Publisher's Summary

Oil supplies begin to vanish without a trace and society starts to crumble!

While on vacation sailing the waters of the Puget Sound, geophysicist Alex Cave hears a mayday call on the radio and sees a brilliant flash of neon-blue light surround an oil tanker. He changes course to help and discovers there was no explosion, there's no one on board, and the oil has mysteriously vanished without a trace.

The bodies of the missing crew are found hundreds of miles away in the snow on Mount Baker, but there are no footprints leading in or out of the area. Oil starts to disappear around the world, and the only clue is a dollar-size crystal found in the hold of an empty oil tanker.

The situation gets bad when sudden freezing temperatures cause weather patterns to change for the worse and threaten a catastrophe that will affect the entire world. The situation goes from bad to worse when an alien artifact discovered on one of the Aleutian Islands is stolen and taken to COBRA, a private top-secret research facility south of Yellowstone National Park. The scientist in charge has no idea what she’s dealing with and things go horribly wrong.

Man, that was fun!

Outstanding-The science was excellent, characters were smart, likeable and I found myself invested and rooting for their success. If you like SciFy and a good story with likable characters, you'll like this series.

100 stars!

This series had me on my the edge of my seat! I finished all three books in 2 days! Great sci-fi mixed with science and suspense. And of course Paul McSorley is amazing! He is my favorite narrator!

Fantastic Story!

This collection is superbly written and the narration is excellent. I listened to the entire series in just 2 sittings because I just couldn't bring myself to hit that pause button.

Great adventure si-if!

The author does a wonderful job weaving this series together! A little bit action/adventure a little bit science fiction. I highly recommend this series. The story is wonderfully executed and the narration is well done. Kind of Indiana Jones meets Xfiles. I look forward to seeing where the story goes from here!

Ok story, Titles are misleading

The focus of 90% of the story is on interpersonal conflicts, Russian mafia and human caused danger.
Technical descriptions don’t expand much beyond the word ‘devices’

not good

Only finished the first book of the three, Dead Energy. I don't have the energy to listen to the other two. Dead Energy was a collection of extremely well-worn tropes and cliches. The main character is not very exciting, nor were any of the other characters in the first book. The few bits of science fiction included in the story were either completely imaginary or were based on faulty science. Character development minimal. Character interaction employed the same nuance as dialogue between third graders. Female characters were preposterous. Did not like the narrator.

Fantastic

Usually I don't listen for as long as I did for this set. Just couldn't put it down because the stories were very compelling and very well put together. The narrator did an excellent job of bringing the world to life and keeping you engaged. I received a free copy of this audio in return for an unbiased review.
