Joseph Plumb Martin (1760-1850) was a soldier in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. Martin participated in the Battles of Brooklyn, the White Plains and Monmouth, and the siege of Fort Mifflin, and the Battle of Monmouth. The Adventures of a Revolutionary Soldier relates the adventures of a young private serving his country under terrible conditions. An amazing account of the revolutionary war. A story that really puts things into perspective as to how tough conditions were and the sacrifices made by these young men. Joseph claims to not have a very good grasp of Grammer, yet his writing is very good and left me wanting more. This story was like Down And Out In London And Paris, but through the eyes of an American revolutionary soldier. Highly recommended!
