Editorial reviews

"The Adventure of the Empty House" marks the return of Sherlock Holmes after he fakes his own death at Reichenbach Falls. Dr. Watson discovers Holmes in the course of investigating a murder, and the plot takes off from there.

The classical British voice of Edward Raleigh leads listeners through the action of this Victorian criminal plot. Raleigh, a.k.a David Case, found his true calling in audio narration. Before his death in 2005, he also gave soaring renditions of novels by Trollope, Dickens, and other British greats. But the expertise he lent to Sherlock Holmes's adventures is truly worthy of praise. His was one of the great "Golden Voices".
