Editorial reviews
"The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle" is one of the most popular Arthur Conan Doyle stories from his Sherlock Holmes canon. The plot involves a "whimsical little incident" - a fine euphemism for a priceless, stolen jewel that appears in the throat of a Christmas goose. This 1892 story has been adapted numerous times for film and television. Here it is grandly captured by the enviable voice of Edward Raleigh, who performed over 700 audiobooks, many of them classics from the likes of Dickens and Trollope, before his death in 2005. Master sleuth Sherlock Holmes always seems one step ahead of his associates, and Raleigh similarly will always remain one step ahead of his competition.
