About this listen

'Incredible... warm, compassionate, full of relatable insights, practical strategies, and, most importantly, takes us one huge step further towards removing the stigma and shame from ADHD'
-Alex Partridge, bestselling author of Now It All Makes Sense

***
From social media sensations Cate Osborn and Erik Gude, with Rennie Dyball, comes a fresh and practical guide to managing ADHD for adults.

Just shy of her thirtieth birthday, Cate Osborn, a teaching artist with two master's degrees, started to have difficulty remembering her lines. Suddenly, things that had seemed routine before were falling through the cracks. An evaluation finally led to a diagnosis: ADHD.

Erik Gude had a slightly different path. Diagnosed in his teens, it would take years before he understood the myriad of ways ADHD affected his life. When they connected as adults, it didn't take long before they realized other people might feel just as lost as they had.

The ADHD Field Guide for Adults is a witty, thoughtful, and practical guide to living with ADHD in adulthood, from two people who actually know what it's like. Featuring the most important foundational information about ADHD, as well as interviews with expert medical professionals, it is carefully designed, with Q&As, definition breaks and expert takes, to be genuinely engaging for people with ADHD, offering bite-sized pieces of knowledge in an accessible format.

From testing, evaluations, and diagnoses, to hacks for work and productivity, and advice on navigating relationships, sex and loved ones, The ADHD Field Guide for Adults is an empowering guide with real-life suggestions from lived experience on every page.©2026 Cate Osborn and Erik Gude

Critic Reviews

Cate and Erik have produced an incredible deep-dive into ADHD. This book is warm, compassionate, full of relatable insights, practical strategies and, most importantly - as far as I'm concerned - it takes us one huge step further along the path towards removing the stigma and shame from ADHD, with a message of hope for all those who thought they were broken.
Digestible, clear and compassionate. Whether you've knowingly struggled with ADHD since childhood, realized you have it as an adult, or you know someone who's been diagnosed and you want to better support them-Osborn and Gude created a much-needed, modern guide for navigating ADHD in today's world. From practical tips to existential questions, they break down ADHD in an accessible way, and it feels like a loving, no-bullshit best friend is holding your hand on every page. I learned a ton and had a blast doing it.
This book has everything: from science to practical advice to romance to actual recipes. Like, for food, from a chef. At once gentle and no-nonsense, this is a truly comprehensive look at ADHD-what it means (and doesn't mean) to have it, and how to build systems to navigate a world designed for neurotypical brains. If you've been given an ADHD diagnosis, if you love someone who has, or even if you think ADHD might describe you, don't sleep on this book.

Listening to this every day while driving to work, just 20 minutes or so at a time, I really understood myself better. This was my first point of contact after my AuDHD diagnosis. I actually had to pull over and have an ugly cry several times throughout this because for once in my entire life I felt seen. I felt a sense of belonging. For once in my 32 years of life I didn't want to die to the crushing feeling of being alone. This book is really important to me and I recommend it to everyone that I talk to that suspects they might have ADHD.

Incredibly helpful.
