Some good ideas but it's not for everyone.
What did you like best about The 4-Hour Work Week? What did you like least?
The basic idea is that if you slack off on your day job to the point that you get fired (he recommends this over quitting) and job surf until you find a boss that's ignorant enough to allow you to work abroad and keep paying you, you will get more freedom.
Furthermore, if you change your definition of holidaying to vagabonding, it doesn't cost much to take long "vacations". You may also have to live in third world countries to make ends meet.
He also recommends you make your income through internet marketing of info products just like the ebook you just bought.
I can't disagree with what the author preaches. Many of us all could indeed work a 4 hour week and there is some good advice in there about freeing up our time, but could you really live with yourself in this kind of lifestyle? The author comes across as very selfish and his definition of freedom requires a "special" set of values and a lack of care for others.
I think I'll stick to the business books and try to add some value to this planet.
Would you be willing to try another book from Timothy Ferriss? Why or why not?
No. I think our values are just too different.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Ray Porter?
Yes.
Did The 4-Hour Work Week inspire you to do anything?
Yes, I would like to travel, spend large amounts of time abroad and learn culture and languages. Just not at the expense of people around me.

Full of URL read outs, waste of time.
The content is ok however it's full of readout to useless website and affiliate links. I estimate at least a few hours of the audio is dedicate to this pointless information. It would be nice if the skipped it and/or just included a chapter at the end or appendix.

Worth the reminder, not to be swallowed whole
Timothy Ferriss is one of those people who challenge the established wisdom and for that I read him with interest. I was taken with his prescription for taking control of your working life and how to be more efficient in what you do to enable a more creative and exciting life. I have a lot to learn here - especially around using automation of computer tasks and processes more effectively. I was quite repulsed by his recommendation to access cheap labour in India etc - surely the message is 'don't get caught up doing menial repetitive and unnecessary tasks yourself - get someone who is willing to be paid slave rates to do it for you!'. This criticism is the primary reason for the 'three points' score I have given it as it is such a pivotal ingredient in his recipe for success.

Pretty tedious
Need to wade through A LOT of self promotion and examples of people who are living the NR life (not necessarily accompanied by info on how they got there) in order to get small snippets of practical advice. Rinse, Repeat. I already bought the book dude, no need to keep selling it. This made it pretty boring, at least in audio book format where you're less likely to be able to skip the guff and find the good bits.

Recommend a printed version
May not suit the readers who prefer values over money. Lot of talk about outsourcing which is off putting at times. There are a few useful tips for improving general productivity and thought process. A number of websites listed in the book which could be handy references. If you are considering this book, buy a printed version rather than this audiobook as a significant portion is spent for reading out web URLs which is annoying when you are listening. I’m returning it and will consider getting a text version.

An interesting look at holiday destinations
If you could sum up The 4-Hour Work Week in three words, what would they be?
Escape from work
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Less references to websites and other information sources within the body of the text
Which character – as performed by Ray Porter – was your favorite?
The character who managed to live overseas while the employer thought they were still at home
What insight do you think you’ll apply from The 4-Hour Work Week?
Not take work too seriously nor place so much importance on money
Any additional comments?
An enjoyable casual read

Will Change Your Life If You Act On It!
What did you love best about The 4-Hour Work Week?
Timothy Ferriss has a simple yet supremely powerful way of approaching life that leaves no doubt that working 40-100 hours a week for someone else will only ruin you.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The 4-Hour Work Week?
Each chapter has unique steps and thought-provoking questions to drag you kicking a screaming out of your cave and into the light, where you can examine yourself and realise where you can improve and / or take action.
Have you listened to any of Ray Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I haven't listened to Ray Porter before, but he speaks this book very well - it sounds as if Timothy Ferriss is actually talking to me!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Joining the New Rich is easier than you think!
Any additional comments?

Inspriational!
Warning! Do not read if you are not prepared to take some action... if you do then you will find that the situations that used to be quite bearable suddenly become less so. All of a sudden you will be able to see more...
This is a fabulous book filled with some great ideas. The narration is good though sometimes the list of websites/resources does become a little repetitive. Whilst these lists make sense in the hard copy, in audiobook form they are less useful.
However you won't be disappointed with this book and it will take you to new places...

Overrated
I must say I fell for this audio book as it sounded ideal to me; Though, even with giving it 1 star this book is considered overrated. There is no such thing as a 4 hour week for the general populace as much as I would have liked it to be so. What is the point of fantasizing about something that is not going to be achievable. If it is for entertainment purposes that you are thinking of getting this audiobook then by all means get it, it sure beats boredom! Enjoy life!
