Full of URL read outs, waste of time.

The content is ok however it's full of readout to useless website and affiliate links. I estimate at least a few hours of the audio is dedicate to this pointless information. It would be nice if the skipped it and/or just included a chapter at the end or appendix.

Worth the reminder, not to be swallowed whole

Timothy Ferriss is one of those people who challenge the established wisdom and for that I read him with interest. I was taken with his prescription for taking control of your working life and how to be more efficient in what you do to enable a more creative and exciting life. I have a lot to learn here - especially around using automation of computer tasks and processes more effectively. I was quite repulsed by his recommendation to access cheap labour in India etc - surely the message is 'don't get caught up doing menial repetitive and unnecessary tasks yourself - get someone who is willing to be paid slave rates to do it for you!'. This criticism is the primary reason for the 'three points' score I have given it as it is such a pivotal ingredient in his recipe for success.

Pretty tedious

Need to wade through A LOT of self promotion and examples of people who are living the NR life (not necessarily accompanied by info on how they got there) in order to get small snippets of practical advice. Rinse, Repeat. I already bought the book dude, no need to keep selling it. This made it pretty boring, at least in audio book format where you're less likely to be able to skip the guff and find the good bits.

One of poorest best rated books I have ever seen

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Nothing. At the core of it is me me me. If everyone behaved like the author, God help us. It's basically outsource, outsource, outsource.

Not good as an Audio book

While I believe this is an excellent book, because so much of it is referencing charts, tables and web sites, it does not work as an audio book

Self indulgent view on life

I only made it half way through this book. It basically teaches that you are more important than everyone else and that your time is wasted if it is spent any way other than satisfying your own needs. Not really my cup of tea.

Recommend a printed version

May not suit the readers who prefer values over money. Lot of talk about outsourcing which is off putting at times. There are a few useful tips for improving general productivity and thought process. A number of websites listed in the book which could be handy references. If you are considering this book, buy a printed version rather than this audiobook as a significant portion is spent for reading out web URLs which is annoying when you are listening. I’m returning it and will consider getting a text version.

Eyeopening

simple ideas but many counterintuitive thinking. will definitely adopt some practices. Some ideas to get out of the office felt like manipulation.
