He's surrounded by boys who welcome him to the Glade - a walled encampment at the centre of a bizarre and terrible stone maze. Like Thomas, the Gladers don't know why or how they came to be there - or what's happened to the world outside. All they know is that every morning when the walls slide back, they will risk everything - even the Grievers, half-machine, half-animal horror that patrol its corridors, to try and find out.

Publisher's Summary
The Hunger Games meets Lost in this spectacular new series. Now a major TV series on E4.
No one has set foot on Earth in centuries - until now.
Ever since a devastating nuclear war, humanity has lived on spaceships far above Earth's radioactive surface. Now, 100 juvenile delinquents - considered expendable by society - are being sent on a dangerous mission: to recolonize the planet. It could be their second chance at life...or it could be a suicide mission.
Clarke was arrested for treason, though she's haunted by the memory of what she really did. Wells, the chancellor's son, came to Earth for the girl he loves - but will she ever forgive him? Reckless Bellamy fought his way onto the transport pod to protect his sister, the other half of the only siblings in the universe. And Glass managed to escape back onto the ship, only to find that life there is just as dangerous as she feared it would be on Earth.
Confronted with a savage land and haunted by secrets from their pasts, the 100 must fight to survive. They were never meant to be heroes, but they may be mankind's last hope.

Book vs TV
I first heard about the 100 series from the TV show and fell in love with the story and the characters! I've watched all 3 seasons twice so far and hanging out for the fourth. It took me a while to realise they were based on a book so I jumped at the chance when I found it!
Initially disappointed when I found that the book and tv series are almost completely different in every way. Besides the very main characters and the basic plot of the story line. Once I was able to seperate them and think of them as completely different stories, I have found great enjoyment in both :)
Great story for those who love a bit of sci fi/romance/action/thriller.
The audio was great! I love that they used both a male and female voice for each specific characters chapter, it helps you relate more to them.

Fans of the Tv show
If you watch the tv show, the books will disappoint you. There is a lot of teenage drama and a lot of romance whereas it is lacking a lot of the action and thrills from the tv show. The readers are very good, I like the subtle differences in voices for different characters although there were some mistakes with character names. Most of the characters from the tv show are not in the book series and it is a very different plot. I personally get really bored with stories where the main characters fall in love in less than a week and their entire reason for living is their other half, but it might be your cup of tea.

too much focus on the love story between the caracters. I didn't care about that. The story should have had more focus on rediscovering earth. Or on surviving on the spaceschip. I do like the bones of the story.

Certainly worth a read if you’re a fan of YA dystopian fiction!
Very well narrated, if for a few cringe-worthy gruff moments, and a good first book by Kass Morgan. Certainly can see her writing style progress as the book goes on. As a result of this it takes a moment to engulf yourself in the narrative but then you’re in for the long run. Certainly worth a read if you’re a fan of YA dystopian fiction!

Disjointed utter garbage
From the very start I knew this was going to go downhill very quickly for me. The overall concept and story isn't bad if the author had spent any real time telling it and not spent most of her time making every single character have a love interest. It's a YA novel so there is always some bits of that but this book cannot go a chapter without giving us lines upon lines of lovey dovey garbage while not actually advancing the overall story. The book feels disjointed as it feels you spend more time in flashbacks than the current story and it isn't always clear you are in a flashback until you are a few minutes in, the narrators didn't help with this and they had pauses mid chapter for no reason etc. Overall a terrible experience and I wish I got that 7 hours of my life back.
