Publisher's Summary
Caring for a new foster child while running a thriving day care should keep Terri Hayes more than occupied, but her heart longs for something more. She hungers for a family of her own, and at 29, she feels time ticking away. When a busted pipe floods her home, Steve Evans offers her the family's basement apartment as a temporary solution.
Steve is widower, a father of two teenaged girls, and a successful writer. He is also the object of Terri's secret affections. At least he was until a casual comment from him leads her to believe that he has all the family he'll ever want.
Iris and Samantha Evans have set their sights on Terri as the perfect stepmother. Their matchmaking plans include equal parts of prayer and deception. Will their scheming result in the wedding of their dreams, or will the harsh confrontation between Steve and the parents of Terri's foster child be an obstacle they can't overcome?

Mundane
What disappointed you about Terri?
I tried to get engaged to the characters, but she introduced so many at once it was hard to keep them straight. It was almost like 2 stories going on at once without a clear indication of when you were in the other story. I just couldn't complete it, it was too mundane.
Would you ever listen to anything by Sharon Srock again?
Probably not.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Laura Jennings?
The narrator was not the problem.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
An inside look at an aging woman desiring children and the workings of the foster child system.

So good!!
Another great book from Sharon Srock! She has quickly become one of my favourite authors! As an older, single woman, I can identify with Terri's struggles to follow God's will for her life, when what she's always wanted seems to be In a different direction. God's way is rarely easy, but it's always the best way!

True Friends are a Great Blessing
Terri, by Sharon Srock is a second book in the Women of Valley View series and yet can easily be a standalone story. Srock does a great job of writing about realistic relationships (especially of this group of friends in Valley View) and circumstances. In this story, she tackles the foster care system and does a nice job of presenting both the parental side and the side of the foster parent. The main characters are believable and likable. Terri is a successful day care owner who wants a family of her own and feels her biological clock is ticking too fast. Steve is a successful author who already has a couple of older daughters and comes across as being satisfied with the family he has. But Terri is falling in love. Can love overcome the difficulties? The author interjects humor, adds a twist or two to the plot and weaves in strong Christian values to bring readers a heartwarming read. The audiobook was narrated well by Laura Jennings, giving each character their own unique voice and making for an enjoyable experience to listen to the book.
I was given an audio copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

another wonderful christian book
this is the second book I have listened to by this author. she tackles the question of foster care. lots of in's and outs...but this shows the good side of foster care..there are good foster parents who provide loving care to children who need the care, good concerned case workers, who work with the parents. if the parents are willing to go through the requirements, they can eventually get their child back and be a whole family again. after so many horror stories of children in the system today, it is also goodto know their are good sides as well. in the meantime, two of the main characters fall in love..... and well, I like happy endings......(and yahooo, no illicit sex...whew). I highly recommend this book!!!!!

Beautiful story by Sharon Srock
Terri, the second book in The Women of Valley View series, is just as good as Callie, the first one. I love reading Christian Fiction, but I especially like the way Sharon Srock weaves the story line with trusting God in all that we do. As it should be in our daily lives, Srock's characters relate their problems and issues with loving God and trusting Him. Srock also deals with real life situations, in this case, foster parenting, showing both sides of the issue. Laura Jennings did a beautiful and believable job narrating this story. I'm looking forward to listening to the rest of the series when they are recorded.
I was given a copy of the audio book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
