Publisher's Summary

Declan

I'm destined to become the next CEO of my family's media empire. The only problem? My grandfather's inheritance clause. Fulfilling his dying wish of getting married and having an heir seemed impossible until my assistant volunteers for the job.

Our marriage was supposed to be the perfect solution to my biggest problem. But the more we act in love for the public, the more unsure I feel about our contract. Caring about Iris was never part of the deal. Especially not when breaking her heart is inevitable.

Iris

My plan to marry Declan was simple in theory. Move in together. Throw a wedding. Have a baby. We set rules to prevent any kind of issues. Ones that were never meant to be broken, no matter how much Declan tempts me. But what happens when our fake relationship bleeds into our real one?

Falling in love was never an option. At least not for me.

Contains mature themes.

Great story, Narrative was a put off.

The story was great, the Female narrator was off putting. She did an okay Female character but when she tried to do anyone else, it was.. Off. Especially when she was doing Declan. She made Declan sound like an old man who has smoked his whole life. The book was worth the pain of sitting through it though.

Iris’ voice is weird.

Good story but my God, Iris’ voice is so off putting. It sounded like she’s doing a kid’s story time and the way she did Declan’s voice is so…weird?

Frustrated with Declan

Overall I enjoy Lauren’s storyline but got frustrated with Declan’s attitude and the way he treats people during the course of the book. Wraps up well but dragged on a little too get there.

Great story, poor narrator

Great story line but the narration from Morae unfortunately ruined the story. Her voice felt more forced and just didn’t match the character. Looked forward to Declan’s chapters, Jason did an awesome job and matched well. Don’t think Morae is a bad narrator, just don’t feel like this one was well matched. I think I would have enjoyed this a lot more with a different female voice over for Iris.

I just couldn’t listen to the female narrator anymore

The book has lots of promise and I might go back and read it but I just can’t listen to the female narrator anymore and I’m only 20% in. If you’re not going to do duel narration then make sure that the narrators can do the opposite gender’s narration. The female doing male voice was awful and grating, so deep and gravely. A pity because Jason Clarke is fantastic.

Great story but Iris narration was just so frustrating

Thoroughly enjoyed the story, but the narration Morae was so trusting, her Declan was so off. Loved Jason’s narration, had me waiting for the Declan chapters.

would have been better with other female performer

I really enjoyed this story! I looked forward to the Declan chapters as Jason did a fantastic performance. But the Iris chapters were let down in places as you could hear her swallow and gulp in between words, and the voice she gave to Declan was a letdown.
the story was the thing that kept me listening as it was quite off-putting. I understand people have to swallow, but it sounded like she had a cold the whole time.

Good story, wrong female narrator used.

I liked this book as much as the first one but the wrong narrator was picked for the female character. The character was early 20’s in the book but the narrator sounds like she was in her 60’s.

Great Story. Terrible Female Narator

Jason did a great job however the female voice did not match the character. She sounded way older than Iris should be. And her male voice was worse than a pack a day smoker. You could never a view of the tone because what should have been light banter and growing attraction. Sounded as if he was constantly growly and angry.
