Publisher's Summary

“The Saint” has returned for his abandoned bride.

Mirabella can hardly remember the man she married as a girl to settle a gaming debt between their fathers. And it’s just as well. She feels nothing but contempt for the man who wed her for her fortune and promptly forgot she existed. The ton may call him “The Saint” but Bella knows better.

Forced to marry as a teen to rescue his family from certain ruin, Sebastian has been apart from his child bride since their wedding day. When he encounters an enchanting impish beauty at the opera, he is thrilled to find that she is none other than his long-ago bride, and he is more than ready to make her his wife in truth.

Too bad the beguiling beauty has no intention of coming meekly to the marriage bed.

The Saint required the patience of a saint

This story got off to a strong start and had interesting twists. I really liked Sebastian. He was a good egg. His distant relationship with his mother seemed a contradiction of character but made sense as the story unravelled. On the other hand, whilst initially liking the idea of Bella’s character, she was often naive, gullible and somewhat immature which did annoy me.

I think the narrator did as good a job as a male could given the story and all its erotic scenes. Nb: This may not appeal to some but I don’t let it bother me. It can’t be easy doing female voices however I wonder if it would be more pleasing to listeners if the feminisation was toned down a notch or two.

This wasn’t my favourite story but it was one with several elements that I’d never come across before (and I’ve binged on a lot!) so I’m happy to recommend for something different.

Lovely characters

Didn’t want to stop listening. Really loved the story of this one. I was pleasantly surprised by some of the plot points and didn’t feel like it was predictable. Diana Quincy had my rapt attention with this one. I really wanted to know how the problems were going to be resolved.
