Publisher's Summary

Deep in the jungles of Peru, the hunt for a legendary Incan idol is underway - an idol that in the present day could be used as the basis for a terrifying new weapon. Guiding a US Army is Professor William Race, a young linguist who must translate an ancient manuscript which contains the location of the idol. What they find is an ominous stone temple, sealed tight. They open it - and soon discover that some doors are meant to remain unopened.

Brilliant Action Adventure.

This was my second time listening, and I loved it just as much. Reilly was very creative in how he weaved the twin stories together.

High action, and a bit brutal in parts

Read this on paper many years ago and enjoyed it more as I recall. I enjoy all of MRs books, but this one could have been bette, and a little less 'fantastic'. Set in South America for the most part, it puts a Languages Professor in some impossible situations, all of which he manages to get out of, where his special armed forces protectors seem to be dropping like nine pins.

Still, it's an action packed ride guaranteed to take you out of your own reality and transport you into adventures you'd never survive in the real world.....monkey-pee notwithstanding.

Typical Matthew Reilly. Not bad

A good book, a great adventure more like it. A bit over the top but that’s to be expected. This was my 3rd or 4th time with this book but my first audio listen. There’s my gripe, Sean Mangan is terrible. His voice is so monotonous. Seriously, it is. I drive for a living and his voice puts me to sleep. Which is the exact opposite of what an audiobook is supposed to do.
It’s hard doing Matthew Reilly audiobooks with this guy reading. I can’t wait for the day someone else does them.

Exciting action read

Temple is the first of Mathew Reilly’s books that I’ve read and because of this one I have read every other book he’s written and never been disappointed.
Temple is action from start to finish and you never want to put it down because you just want to know what’s happening. It’s fantastic and fun and inspiring.

This is the first time I have listened to this story, but I am glad that they use the same narrator on all the Mathew Reilly novels, I am going to listern to Area 7 next I am looking forward to that one as well.

Such Brilliant

Every time. Every single time that I watch The Fountain, I have to come back and read this story. The interweaving storylines set in different times in the southern Americas...
And it's delivered so well. Sean Mangan reads all the Reilly books so well, but the variation of the voices here is excellent. One of my favourite entries from Matthew Reilly. Looks like I may have just tumbled into the Reilly rabbit hole once more for a complete rerun of all his works.
Hope the boss enjoys listening to them in the office with me for the next few months.
