Surprised
When this first started I thought I probably wouldn’t get to the end without swapping it but it did get better. The storyline was good. It has turned me off psychologists though. Margot was so frustrating, and broke every rule of patient/practitioner relationships. Once it got interesting I did enjoy it.

very ordinary
I found this book really ordinary, the plot was stock standard, not bad, just unoriginal. Like a holiday read, perfectly fine as long as you arent looking to be too impressed. The plot hinged on police being really unresponsive to certain evidence and overall unconcerned for the protagonists safety, which I find a real stretch to believe. As well, the way the psychologist talked about people seemed too critical, condemning, and cliched, this also wasn't believable to me. The narrator was good.
Hard to believe others found this book thrilling.

Utterly Compulsive! That Ending OMG
This definitely puts the 'psychological' in psychological thriller. Some great twists and a pacy story, I couldn't stop listening.

Misleading Plot Summary
Of course many readers were surprised by the ending. The plot summary says, in part, "That’s when she slams into his back and he falls in front of the train. Suddenly, one tragedy leads to another leaving her, her family, and her patients in danger.'
Um, no, the remainder of the story did NOT follow from that. That actually came at the end. Totally misleading.
Other than that, the story was still completely unbelievable. Nobody would act like that over and over.
I understand why some female reviewers are annoyed with this male portrayal of the incompetent woman. Me, too.
