it isn’t a masterpiece but an easy listen and quite enjoyable, some mystery but not much suspense

As a fan of Denise Swanson’s Scumble River series, I was pleased to find connections to it in the new series.
A chef who acts as landlady and mentor to college students is an interesting new idea in food-related cozies.
The outcome of the story was quite unexpected .

How on earth did this ever get published in the first place? The characters are shallow, the plot line is weak & it’s cringeworthy the way that the female characters are belittled and treated by the male ones.
I only continued to read it because I refuse to allow a book to beat me.
The actor reading the book was good, but even that was no saving grace.
Don’t waste your time!
