Publisher's Summary

Control dinosaurs.

Tame women.

Rule the world.

Victor Shelby ends each day wondering when his life is going to get better. His parents are dead, he struggles to pay rent, and his boss at the animal control shelter has him cleaning cages instead of working in the field. His dream of helping animals seems destined to end in a mop bucket.

Then, Victor is abducted by aliens and deposited on a prehistoric world filled with hungry dinosaurs and beautiful alien women.

He doesn’t know why he is here or what his purpose is, but he finds himself fighting for survival. Most men would have been lizard kibble in a few moments, but Victor’s natural ability to empathize with animals has grown stronger, and he finds himself able to control the most docile of the terrible lizards.

Victor will have to use his taming powers to provide food, water, and shelter for the three women that he has sworn to protect. Success means they get to live another day; failure means a horrible death in the jaws of Earth’s most deadly predators.

Disclaimer: This audiobook has ravaging dinosaurs, a lot of cursing, extreme violence, and a harem of exotic alien women. The novel is not meant for people under the age of 18.

Don't Bother.

Almost certain this was written by a pubescent teenager.
I can appreciate how difficult being a writer is and I typically wouldn't disparage a novel regardless of whether I personally enjoyed it or not. But this is cringeworthy.
I'm a warm blooded male and even I found this difficult to listen to. 5 minutes in and I was discouraged. 5th chapter and I'm done. 4 male characters to date. 20+ females, all apparently aesthetically pleasing and described in minute detail, almost to the point of being considered softcore porn. It gets better, each female provides a singular personality trait of a generalised 'hot girls' emotional palate. for example; bubbly, cute and dumb barby or arrogant, snobbish, condecending princess.
All for a fantasy novel with a bit of, let's say, racey content, but this was like being punched in the ear with a 40yr old virgin, who lives in the basement of his grandmother's house, wet dream.
To be honest, I'm not even certain what the story was actually about. Dinosaurs on an alien planet?
Keep looking, you'll find more compelling reading material on the wall of toilet stall down at the local gas station.

You want to know what I hate most about the book?

Nothing, this book is written very differently to other books ive read. It feels more natural to read... or listen to as it were. I couldn't put it down and eagerly await the next book. If only the books were longer. Do yourself a favor and LISTEN TO THIS BOOK ITS THE SHIT.

Fantasy for someone who has never talked to a girl

Started cringing about chapter 3 but continued on hoping it would get better, it didn't.
The protagonist takes every opportunity to extol the physical virtues of the women around him, this would be bearable if it only happened during introductions but he just keeps stopping the story to explain how the women around him are better than any mans fantasy and how he just cant stop staring at them because they look so amazing. We get it the girls are all 12 out of 10.

The story makes pretentions at being a LitRPG but aside for a basic character sheet it barely shows up in the story. The Protagonist spends more time relating his situation to Builder and Crafting Sims and the importance of early game development but the world shows no indication of following video game logic so his insistence of maximising his production ques in a world where he is struggling to find fresh water just baffles. He is the leader because he has played Minecraft and this makes him the best person to direct the groups survival in a dinosaur filled jungle.

This feels like an interesting premise defeated by an author who lacks life experience and failed to make up for it with research. The world needs to work like a video game because that is all the author knows about, that and some facts from the history channel, the women are beyond beautiful because if its your fantasy then of course they are.

All in all this story could be salvaged with an extensive rewrite and a lot of research and revision but in the mean time plenty of other authors have taken the geek makes good and haram fantasy's and done more with it.

If Destiny's Crucible and Jurassic park had a kid

I will tell you right off the bat this book is worth your credit.

Now with that being said this book is not for everyone, for the first half of this book it is really hard to listen to because the MC will not shut up about how pretty the girls he is with are. This nonstop talk about how pretty alien girls are, it's just face palm embarrassing to hear. it is not sexy which is sad because if the story would have just given less detail about how the alien girls looked. Are imagination would do a far better job then what the book tells us.

I tell you this flaw in the book because, this is by far the biggest problem, any listener with have to over come to enjoy the story.Good news is the writing is good and when it starts going it really starts going. There is a flow to the story that makes it really hard to put it down.
Not going to lie it is really cool to hear how people with not metal! have to build weapons and fortifications with just there wits. All in all a really good story about a man who starts as a dog catcher and slowly becomes Turok.

Most of the book is descriptions of women...

WAY too much time spent talking about the main characters sexual desires. The alien women are all very human-like and vapid. I like fantasy and I don't mind some harem elements in a book (I enjoyed the Iron druid chronicles, destiny's crucible, and even super sales on super hero's though it borders on too much as well) but this is just way too much of that and not enough plot. I didn't care about what was happening or the characters because none of it was developed. 90% of the time is just spent describing women and the main characters boners.

The only saving grace is Luke Daniels performance, which wasn't his best work but considering the content it's hard to judge.

Book is mostly nipples and rope.

And not in a, it has fun bondage scenes way. No, the main character gets constantly side tracked staring at the women so that 30% of the book is just describing what he is gawking at. It's insufferable. Then he gets praised for being noble and kind because he hadn't raped anyone yet. 40% of the book is excessive description of rope making or axe making or useless hut making. The story, the dinosaurs, the mysteries of how and why they are on this planet and everything else has to fight for that last 30%.

A bit too much of an adolescent sexual fantasy

Here's what I liked about the book: The struggle to survive in a new and dangerous land was very well done, and I loved the breakdowns of what they did to fashion tools and make progress. The dinosaur encounters are also very exciting and suspenseful. I like the situation, and the mystery of why aliens are abducting people to essentially place them in the real life equivalent of a game of "Don't Starve" (an actual video game, which has many similarities to the situation in this book causing me to wonder if it, or a game like it, inspired the story)

But oh my god, the sexual tension in this book was so cringe worthy!! Every girl the main character, Victor, meets develops a thing for him... and he tends to meet only girls. There were two guys when he first arrived, but wouldn't you know it, they both died almost immediately. What a shame, purely luck of the draw... I'm sure that was an unintentional coincidence on the author, Michael-Scott Earle's part.

Also, there's so much time spent describing how sexy the girls are and how Victor is always fighting his sexual urges around them which makes him stare and drool distractedly a lot of the time... and also makes me want to slap him. Repeatedly. Dude, you're not 12 years old and just discovering your interest in girls! Did you never grow up and learn how to handle yourself around the opposite sex??

I get it - I've also had adolescent male fantasies about being the center of attention of a harem of women. In my own private imagination, I will indulge these fantasies very blatantly. But these fantasies don't make good stories to tell to other people, because they're all about me just being the sexual desire of attractive women. Nobody else is interested in my cliche and self-serving sexual fantasies. I know this, and I accept it.

Michael-Scott Earle appears not to know this, because he just blatantly throws it out there without caring the slightest whit for subtlety. Every time one of the girls fawns over Victor to tell him how amazing he is, I cringe and roll my eyes. You could probably make a drinking game out of it! It's just too much!

Micheal-Scott Earle - If you dialed back that aspect of the story even just a little, the story would be a WHOLE lot better! I'm considering purchasing the second book, because I'm curious about many of the details that haven't been explained yet and I want to see what they come up with next... but I'm debating with myself whether it's worth it with with all the cringing it's going to cause me.

If you have a low tolerance for this kind of thing, don't buy this book. If you have a higher tolerance, though, you might find this book fun.

It Could Be Great

This could be a really good book, it is narrated well and seems to be a great story idea, but is ruined by all the sexual content constantly.

Nope I tried I really did

maybe if the guy wasnt such a worthless twit I'd think about finishing this book. Hes so cringe worthy spineless that it makes it hard to listen to any of this. He literally stumbles and falls over every girl he comes across and has the back bone of 20 something year old virgin living in his mothers basement. Sorry but no.

Why is it so highly reviewed?

I returned the book after only the first chapter. I was planning on giving it a further try because the first part left me cringing at a weak, beta male character and an author who spends pages describing women with the same words repetitiously. While sitting at my desk, I decided to revisit the reviews and found the general consensus was the same. The main character always remains a whiny, childish annoyance and the author spends pages describing one woman. I could not handle that for the entire length no matter how good the story is.

A 15 y/o nerd fantasy

I have listened to the frist two books and the best way to describe them are unimaginative and cringey. The survival aspect of the story is just a basic plot outline to tie in the main character gaining a harem of furries. Half the book is describing said furries and the sexual tension the main character has with them. The other half is basically base building. And if you're thinking "That's ok, I don't mind some porn." don't get your hopes up. The book pretty much glosses over actual sex scene's. The book doesn't just fail as a sci-fi, adventure, and survival/horror, it also fails as an erotica which is apparently what was actually attempted.

You might as well read self insert fanfiction.

So glad i got this book and series

Love this series. It is funny and witty with adult humour but it the most perfect way. Not like others. This is done with fun, not vulgar. I had to get book 2 and 3 straight after and completed all 3 in just over 2 days. I couldn't stop listening. I was so disappointed when book 3 finished as i am craving for book 4 through too 999 😂 one can only hope. Hint, hint. Keep the adventures coming please.

ridiculous

SPOILERS

I cannot insist enough how ridiculous this book is, there is basically no plot development, every woman gets at least 10 minutes of description per chapter of how sexy they are and the MC is a moron. I thought this might be good as a man who has enhanced empathy with animals in an alien world with dinosaurs seems like a very interesting concept but the dinos get about an hour of mention throughout the entirety of the book the rest it this idiot MC acting like hes a 13 year old. I truly have no idea how anyone could have no clue what a dinosaur looks like, seriously he doesn't know what a t rex looks like! the women are just as stupid, one is a half cheetah type who at first appears like a strong independent woman who describes how women protect men only to then constantly seek leadership from the MC. the next is meant to be a cheery silver surfer type woman but has no useful attributes other than she's cheery oh and is the only one forwardly interested in the MC. the last woman is a cow! it doesn't matter how gorgeous a woman is if she's that much of a witch there's no man who would be that head over heels when she lifted her skirt. The book is stupid, the narrator cannot do a woman's voice. the MC is weak and idiotic. the women are only good to look at apparently. the plot is just descriptions of the woman broken by the occasional dino appearance or ideas to 'build a fort'

Incredibly stupid

I understand the appeal of being in a fantasy world surrounded by hot girls. This is not the feeling that this book gives you however. It's more like being in a horny teenagers head while he's daydreaming. The girls around him behave more like pre- programmed automatons than people, and the situations aren't event close to believeable.
If you want the sexual fantasy done right, go listen to "Super sales on super heroes". It's orders of magnitude better than this dog shit.

Bearable... just

I like simple writing and simple characters but this takes simple a little to far. The main character could be summed up as a plank of wood with a cock attached to to bottom. And somehow every female character is copy paste big ass huge boobs, and always, aways needs saving (in cock planks opinion).

started to get a bit more bearable towards the end and the narration was good so 2 stars. If you like deep characters or have any opinion leaning towards females not being objectified then I would steer clear.
