Story
An army of monsters walks among us, hidden in plain sight. They're fast. They're strong. They're unrelenting. And they only want one thing: The shitty gas station at the edge of town. Coming as a surprise to absolutely no one, Jack - night-shift clerk and local crazy person - has found himself neck-deep in the middle of yet another world-ending terror. And this time around, nobody can be trusted. Not that tough-as-nails cop who probably knows a lot more than she's letting on. Not the adorkable new employee who might be something far less innocent than she appears.

Story
An AI overseer and a human crew arrive on a distant planet to salvage an ancient UN starship. The overseer is unhappy. The crew, well, they're certainly no A-team. Not even a C-team on the best of days. And worse? Urmahon Beta, the planet, is at the ass-end of nowhere. Everybody expects this to be a long, ugly, and thankless job. Then it all goes disastrously wrong. What they thought was an uninhabited backwater turns out to be anything but empty.

It was just a random mutation - one of a billion that happen in viruses every day. But this one was different. It exploded out of Somalia and spread across the oceans before anybody thought to look up from their cell phones to see what was going on. The infected breathed the virus into the air around them, spreading it through the cities faster than anyone thought possible. Hospitals were overwhelmed. Police lines crumbled. Quarantine sites disintegrated. Cities started to collapse.

For the first time ever, the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society has produced an audio recording of all of Lovecraft's stories. These are not dramatizations like our Dark Adventure Radio Theatre - rather, this is an audiobook of the original stories, in all-new, never-before-heard recordings made by the HPLHS' own Andrew Leman and Sean Branney exclusively for this collection. This collection spans his entire career from his earliest surviving works of childhood to stories completed shortly before his death. All tales include original music by HPLHS composer Troy Sterling Nies.

Parrish Partridge’s true facts: There’s nothing hotter than a tall, gruff, bewildered, tattooed mountain of a man cuddling a sweet, orphaned baby, so you can tell yourself that you’ll resist him...But that’s a lie. And when that man asks you to do him a favor and pretend to be his very temporary, very fake fiance to help him get custody of that adorable baby, you can pretend you know better than to say yes...But that’s a lie, too.

Publisher's Summary
Working at a dead-end retail job in the middle of nowhere can be hard. The long hours. The helpless customers. The enormous eldritch horror living deep below the building. As the only full-time employee at the 24-hour gas station at the edge of town, Jack has pretty much seen it all. But when he decides to start an online journal documenting the bizarre day-to-day occurrences, he unwittingly attracts the attention of much more than just a few conspiracy theorists.
With the body count steadily on the rise and a dark, ancient force infecting the dreams of everyone around him, Jack will do everything in his power to stay out of the way and mind his own business. After all, he’s just a gas station clerk. It’s not like he’s getting paid enough to wage battle against the nightmarish aberrations plaguing his community. Besides, he already has his hands full attempting to manage all those mysterious lawn gnomes, the mutant raccoons, and the charming phantom cowboy who lives in the bathroom.
Based on the award-winning creepypasta by GasStationJack, Tales from the Gas Station: Volume One is a love letter to the pioneers of classic horror tailored to a generation that grew up in the era of smartphones and WiFi.

Thoroughly underrated, a hidden gem
Whilst this series did start as a creepypasta, it has done more than most books when it comes to both surprising me and making me laugh. The general air of Something-Isn't-Right mixes wonderfully with perfect comedic (and horror) timing, a noticeable love the author has of the creepy and unknown (and those creepy tales already spun), and results in an easy but addictive read. If you are reading this review and wondering whether or not to try this book, please, take this as a sign to spend your credits.

One of my most favorite nosleep series!
I absolutely loved the original Reddit stories and when Jack said he was putting out his book I couldn't wait. I bought the book back when it came out and didn't hesitate to buy the audible version.
Tales from the gas station is honestly a lot like an episode of The Twilight Zone (the old one not the new one, haven't watched that one yet.). The story itself is phenomenal and is 100x better when voiced By MCP. MCP bring life and style to all of the characters and breaths life into the story itself.
I absolutely love this book and I love the narrator too! I would definitely recommend to anyone that has a dark sense of humor (or a sense of humor at all) and to anyone who likes hearing strange stories.

Narration was frustrating
The narrator’s cadence was aggravating. He’d read quickly, then at a normal pace, and take long unnecessary pauses. It made it hard for me to get into the story.
The stories themselves may have been ok, but I didn’t make it through the first one before giving up due to the narration. Hence one star.

Excellent listen - both book and narrator
My friend suggested that I read this book even though it’s unlike anything I read in general or listen -whatever - but I decided to give it a whirl and I was not disappointed that I did. Between the narrator and the story this was a great listen and I can’t wait (hopefully there is one )but can’t wait for the next sequel .. this was an enjoyable listen and it’s like humor with a little bit of scary but not really scary- if that makes sense .. highly recommended!!!

Good listen
My only beef is with the engineering. Many long pauses which should’ve been edited better, also a few double lines as well as the narrator coughing/clearing his throat and tripping over his tongue. Sometimes the sound would get softer then quieter, even during the same sentence. That said, the errors didn’t detract from the overall listen, I’ll be buying volume II

Do not hesitate!
This has to be the best audiobook ever! An excellent, gripping and exciting narration of a masterpiece by one of the masters of CreepyPasta stories. Mr CreepyPasta does an amazing job, and the story itself is absolutely riveting. Jack Townsend is a fantastic author!...and the story has a bit of everything in it. It has comedy, suspense and horror around every corner. And after listening to the condensed version on YouTube (multiple times) I had to have the full version...and I'm so so glad that I did.
I simply cannot recommend this enough!!

What the
I don’t know why I bought this. The narrator is terrible. He makes mistakes while reading and doesn’t correct them. Surely that’s not allowed. The stop start reading is awful too. I’m a ways into the book and the story is all over the place. I don’t know how this book has so many good reviews. It’s ridiculously bad and the narration is a joke. My six year old child reads better than this.

This was an absolute corker from start to finish. I didn't want it to end.. and look! there's another volume to dive straight into. phew!
This has you questioning reality time and time again, which is incredibly impressive. (Obey the Dark God..)
Honestly, my only issue with this, is the audio quality. Its very slightly muffled, at least, compared to other audiobooks I've listened to. But I couldn't remove a star because the story and narrator are just that good.
The Dark God consumes us all..

Great story to listen to
I bought this after listening to on YouTube but the differences were so vast it was a completely different story. Everything from the dark humour to the brilliant delivery is handled expertly, can't wait to finish the series
