Publisher's Summary

Internationally-acclaimed New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of science fiction, urban fantasy, and paranormal romance brings another action-, adventure-, and suspense-filled story to transport listeners out of this world.

Twenty-four year old Tory Carson is dying to get out of Magic, New Mexico and explore the world. She has spent her whole life cocooned in the protection of the close-knit community. When she finally gets a chance to go somewhere for three weeks, she would be crazy to say no. Even if her father is screaming it!

Simon Drayton is a reclusive billionaire who has reinvented himself over and over again through the centuries. He has temporarily settled his headquarters in the beautiful city of Charleston, South Carolina.

He is used to taking what he wants. He has learned that wealth and power are potent motivators for those who are greedy. Confusion reigns when he sets his sights on a beautiful, young female who is oblivious to his power. After centuries of getting what he wants, he is shocked, and just a little bit fascinated, when he discovers that not all things are for sale.

Things heat up when the irritating, young "human" woman refuses to play the game by his rules. She isn’t impressed with his wealth. She isn’t impressed with his looks. In fact, she acts like she isn’t impressed by anything he does, even when he flashes his teeth!

Find out what happens when a centuries-old werewolf discovers he isn’t the only creature who loves to bite.

Paranormal Romance done right

This is Book 2 of the Magic, New Mexico series, but it takes place before Touch of Frost. This is the love story of Joseph and Jonah’s parents, Simon and Tory. It’s hot without being overly explicit, in keeping with Smith’s other books. Brenin does a very decent job of narration, as with all SES books. Well worth the time and money if you like this genre.

So what haporned to Youssef....

<WARNING: MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD> Okay it's about tori and simon...cool cool cool... buthos could this book end the way it did? Youssef u conciousness and probably dead. Didn't Simon mention how much Youssef has done for him? He even joined him on what he thought was a death sentence... cool yoj want tk meet the in-laws amd all but Simon literally left Youssef on the ground and didn't even check on him. If j overlook that fact (can't really... so mad). The book was okay. I mean it's short anf not much character development happened. Would I read again...nah... mostly because the last six minutes has cause be to lowkey (maybe highkey) wish Simon to be alone.... suffering. His character was completely destroyed in the last few minutes. Tori was meh... she was kinda boring. A vam with blood allergy was new but i widh sje had skmething ekse going for her. Youssef should stop putting himeself in danger for Simon and get better friends. Youssef is too good fod simon and tori. I hope he iz still alive and ginds his happiness far far away from thise who wouldn't care if he died.

Great Story But ...

Here is another series & this time can't get the rest on Audible or Amazon. This sucks. Enjoy the author but she always seems to leave the reader hanging.

Girls Just Want to Have Fun

Tori is a new character in the Magic, New Mexico series. We did meet her great-aunt Topper back in Lacey's book, Touch of Frost and I am glad that we got to see more of Topper. This book was super short but it did give us a lot of information within it and it also introduces us to more characters. I enjoyed Tori and I enjoyed Simon. Simon is the typical werewolf however he thinks he is the only supernatural being and I can understand that because his previous Alpha never told him any different. I enjoyed the fact that Tori was not infatuated with him at all in the beginning. All she wanted to do was be an independent woman and enjoy the fact that she is no longer in her small hometown. Like Cyndi Lauper say, Girls Just Want to Have Fun. I am 100% invested in the series and I hope there are tens and tens and tens books from the series because there are just so many people in Magic New Mexico.

Fun Series paranormal romance to enjoy

Loved the fun interaction of the varied magical people. A good addition to the Magic town series. This story just makes you want more Magic stories please!! Enjoyed this Prequel to Book 1 and you got to find out how Jonas and Jonah “the twins” parents met. Great audio. I am on to Book 3 Alexandru’s Kiss - Tory’s brother.
