Publisher's Summary
Tad thought things were done.
Hearing her clinking around some more in the kitchen, Tad realized he should have been up and helped her with whatever she was working on. But, as he was thinking that she was back in the bedroom again with a plate of food, bacon, and eggs. And, as she handed it to him, the lights flicker for a second. Over and finished.
They both look up to the lightbulbs. Then in a sudden, final-feeling moment, they completely turned off. And once again, Tad realized that they were in something bigger than he had hoped. As he went to take his first bite of the hot food in the darkness, he heard glass break outside.
But, it was just the beginning.
