Story
Many people react negatively to the word theology, believing that it involves dry, fruitless arguments about minute points of doctrine. Yet as Dr. R.C. Sproul argues, everyone is a theologian. Any time we think about a teaching of the Bible and strive to understand it, we are engaging in theology. Therefore, it is important that we put the Bible's varied teachings together in a systematic fashion, using proper, time-tested methods of interpretation so as to arrive at a theology that is founded on truth.

Story
With nearly 200,000 copies sold in its 25 years, Chosen by God by Dr. R. C. Sproul is a contemporary classic on predestination, a doctrine that isn't just for Calvinists, says Sproul. It is a doctrine for all biblical Christians. In this updated and expanded edition of Chosen by God, Sproul shows that the doctrine of predestination doesn't create a whimsical or spiteful picture of God but paints a portrait of a loving God who provides redemption for radically corrupt humans.
Publisher's Summary
The Zondervan Biblical and Theological Lectures series provides a unique audio learning experience. Unlike a traditional audiobook's direct narration of a book's text, Systematic Theology: Audio Lectures includes high-quality live recordings of college-level lectures that cover the important points from each subject as well as relevant material from other sources.
The Christian church has a long tradition of systematic theology, that is, studying theology and doctrine organized around categories such as the word of God, redemption, and Jesus Christ. Wayne Grudem's Systematic Theology: Audio Lectures provides an accessible introduction to biblical doctrine.
These lectures feature:
- A strong emphasis on the scriptural basis for each doctrine
- Clear teaching, with technical terms kept to a minimum
- A contemporary approach, treating subjects of special interest to the church today
- A friendly tone, appealing to the emotions and the spirit as well as the intellect
- Frequent application to life
Systematic Theology: Audio Lectures feature the author's expert teaching through every chapter in the textbook and are an ideal resource for traditional students, students in distance and online-learning courses, and self-learners wanting to better understand Christian theology.

Not a reading of the book
This was not the actual audio version of the book. However, it was a collection of talks, or, as he refers to them himself, "sessions that summarize the book. If you are looking for the full version of the book, I recommend getting the physical copy until a full, unabridged version of the audio is available. Disappointed that Audible did not clarify.

Most but not all
Would you listen to Systematic Theology again? Why?
this audio version contains most of the text but not all. It contains the same idea, but not text to text reading. Maybe this is why it is a lot easier to understand. It is definitely audience freindly to listen to the audio than reading the book. However, if you are studying for the test, you should read the book, if you do not want to miss any detail. But if you are cramming, this really helps.

Excellent introduction to Theology
For the new Christian this would be very insightful. If however, the listener has any theological experience, the beginning may be a bit challenging in its topical presentation. But after the first few chapters, it begins to pick up steam and flow. The presentation is lecture-style and can be dry in parts. But overall, the knowledge imparted is not going to be gleaned in one listening...but believe me, the subsequent readings will unify the overall mission of the author.

Excellent content, difficult to navigate
The lecture content is superb - highly recommended. However, at 57 “chapters” there is no index or guide to the content leaving it difficult to find content. I ended up downloading the Kindle book sample and using the index there.
Naming the chapters on the app (which is now possible) or providing a PDF index would be useful.
