Publisher's Summary

Three best friends met every Tuesday for 26 years. And then they stopped.

From the author of the best-selling Sweeney Sisters series comes a novel of friendship, family, and hope.

When new next-door neighbors Georgia, Midge, and Lula first assembled on Georgia's porch in Charleston for sweet tea, they couldn't have known their gathering was the beginning of a treasured tradition. For 26 years they have met on Tuesdays at four o'clock, watching the seasons change and their children grow up, supporting each other in good times and in bad. With their ambitions as different as their personalities, these best friends anticipate many more years of tea time. And then, one Tuesday, Georgia shares news that brings their long-standing social hour to an abrupt halt. And that's only the beginning as unraveling secrets threaten to alter their friendship forever.

Pulled on the Heart Strings...

Pulled on the Heart Strings... Told well and can connect with all characters as the story jumps from perspectives.

Spoiler!

I had a very hard time with this book. I really didn’t know what it was about when I first started listening to it. It was annoying how the author made the ladies in the book appear ancient. They were in their 50s. She made them seem like old ladies. Being 57, I didn’t appreciate that. It was pretty cheesy in spots. I rolled my eyes a lot! Now for the real criticism. She made the person dying of brain cancer out to be a battle ax.... blaming it brain cancer altering her mood. Not all people with brain cancer have the personality changes. This part of the book was very difficult for me and I wasn’t expecting this diagnosis. My 32 year old daughter died of brain cancer 2 years ago. It was personally difficult for me to listen to this book. The narrator’s voice was kind of annoying sometimes. I usually don’t criticize many books but this only gets about a 3 from me.

Sweet story.

This story is about three neighbor women that have tea every Tuesday, but things in life change for all of them as they get older and their lives alter due to events in their lives. There are points where I rolled my eyes because of the way a character behaved, but that character was consistent throughout the whole story. I believe that another book should follow up on that character's potential foolish personal choice: well, it comes across as a future "Newlywed Killers" episode. That aside, I enjoyed this book and how it is work to be a friend. It isn't all happiness and hearts. A worthwhile read.

Nice, heartwarming story.

It was a nice, heartwarming story. The only thing that I found confusing was, is Georgia's husband's name Langdon or Langford.

True Friendship

This was one of the best books I have read in a long time. I laughed and cried. I wanted to shake Lulu a few times but I fell in love with her and all the characters even Bennett. I liked how Heidi and Annie showed up as I also loved the Sweeney Sisters. The narrator did a phenomenal job of bringing the characters to life. Loved it all.
