About this listen

What I thought I knew: in 1998, Maryanne Doyle disappeared, and Dad knew something about it. Maryanne Doyle was never seen again.

What I actually know: in 1998, Dad lied about knowing Maryanne Doyle. Alice Lapaine has been found strangled near Dad's pub. Dad was in the local area for both Maryanne Doyle's disappearance and Alice Lapaine's murder.

Great story, I wanted to keep listening to hear the story unfold. My only suggestion is tighter editing.

Great read

The narrator was excellent. The story was complex but flowed well. I liked that it was funny in places and the main character was flawed but likeable. I look forward to the next book in the series

A smooth listen with humour and a compelling story

Wow very strange tale, indeed. Oh, what a tangled web we weave when we try to deceive, this was one of the best well written stories of listen to look forward to hearing more.

It’s was a bit slow moving but had a decent ending so made it worth the listen. Overall a good book but not overly exciting.

Easy listen but a bit slow

The book is too long with boring passages that let my mind wander. Perhaps tighter editing is required. The story is quite alright but there is a lot of unnecessary description of feelings and shallow character portrayal, best left to the readers imagination through there actions. The English is basic and a richer vocabulary would help. Hopfully the style will improve .

Good syory with too much padding.

It was an enjoyable listen, the plot had some intrigue (although a couple of aspects were a bit predictable), and the narration was excellent. The accents and changes of voice tone for the different characters was really well done.

Excellent narration!
