Publisher's Summary
Morgan's life is not easy. Growing up on the streets of City Four, he is constantly shunned by the other citizens. Morgan doesn't mind being ignored. What he does mind, though, are the constant beatings from the city guards due to his friendship with Sarah, the city lord's only daughter. Lord Simon wants him dead, but the laws of the kingdom are on Morgan’s side and even the guards won't kill him, just for being seen near his manor.
Morgan’s time is running out, though. Lord Simon has deep pockets and his last visit to the manor may just have put him over the edge. Worse, he is nearing his 16th birthday, and has yet to awaken any abilities. In a world where might makes right, he has never been one of the mighty. What will he do when faced with a life altering decision and just how will his decision impact those around him?

A decent book.
there are alot of similarities between this and dantes immortality, if anything this is a lite version of it.
So if you liked dantes this could be a nice backgroud listen .
Quite a few cliches and troupes are done throughout the novel which makes the atory a bit predictable.
The story hasnt done enough to differentiate it from other lit rpgs on the platform which could be done in the second book.

Decent story with terrible writing
I got about 2 hours in before I refunded this book. I'm not usually that critical when it comes to writing, but this is high school level at best. The character doesn't need to explain that he "felt something stab him". Show don't tell, get an editor, or at least have people beta read.
I've never heard this narrator before, and I understand that the material was probably difficult to read aloud, but voices were all the same tone and inflection the entire time. Boring to listen to.
I honestly don't understand what other people enjoyed about the book enough to rate it 4+ stars, but everyone is entitled to their opinions.
The premise is decent and with cleaner writing it could be good, but in its current state it's just not worth picking up

A poor imitation of "Dante's Immortality"
This book was a struggle for me. It followed Dante's Immortality's plot very closely but fall's short in character development/behavior and the world feels dull. You might like the book more if you haven't read the other one. Out of 400+ audio books this the first time I felt compelled to write a review.

Mostly good.
I enjoyed this book. The narrator is pretty good, though some voices sound very similar. My main grievance that I have with this book that was never justified is the unbelievable level of ignorance and naivete of the MC. He is a 16 year old boy who grew up as an orphan on the streets and he doesnt know what sex is. Every time a woman flirts or makes a move he acts like he has no idea what they are doing. He doesnt even grasp what rape is. It's such a dumb mechanic to use it actually detracts from the story. Even if he had never even heard of the opposite sex, his hormone addled teenage body would react to an attractive female flirting and touching him. I'm just blown away that the author took it as far as he did to try and make the MC seem unlearned and naive.

Very enjoyable, exited for book 2
This book had what I feel a lot of litrpg are missing, and that's a good plot. It showed me who the characters were and what they are willing to do. I could have done without the abusive side character, but I understand why he was there.
The narrator was fine. Some of the female characters started to sound the same, but the guy nailed some of the other voices.

1 word. Awsome
This book/series is great. Aaron's capability of describing scenes and characters and emotions is unreal. this is a must read as well as his other books. Once you read the first book you will be hooked and get the second and then you will be excited with anticipation for the next. One of my favorite books an absolute must read for any gamer or RPG fan.

good start
So I really did enjoy this book. I believe the battle scenes were quite excellent and the rpg system in play was well executed and we'll thought out. I liked the main character and his allie, I would of liked a bit more interaction with others at this giant acadamy it kinda felt rushed through as we didn't get to meet very many of the other students but it was still quite good in my opinion.
I think the narrator started to get more of a feeling for the charactets half way and to the end.
all in all I cant wait to get the next book 9.5/10 for my honest review.

Over powered for level is always fun!
The world development isn't to bad but the character development is odd however i got the feeling more would be filled in later. I felt like I didn't understand Morgan's actions or how naive he was for growing up on the streets. With all that going on it didn't take way to much from how fun the story was. This is totally YA and not for epic fantasy buffs, It's not so heavy you can be doing other things while listening.
