Who and what are supercommunicators? They're the people who can steer a conversation to a successful conclusion. They are able to talk about difficult topics without giving offence. They know how to make others feel at ease and share what they think. They're brilliant facilitators and decision-guiders. How do they do it?
In this groundbreaking book, Charles Duhigg unravels the secrets of the supercommunicators to reveal the art - and the science - of successful communication. He unpicks the different types of everyday conversation and pinpoints why some go smoothly while others swiftly fall apart. He reveals the conversational questions and gambits that bring people together. And he shows how even the most tricky of encounters can be turned around. In the process, he shows why a CIA operative was able to win over a reluctant spy, how a member of a jury got his fellow jurors to view an open-and-shut case differently, and what a doctor found they needed to do to engage with a vaccine sceptic.
Above all, he reveals the techniques we can all master to successfully connect with others, however tricky the circumstances. Packed with fascinating case studies and drawing on cutting-edge research, this book will change the way you think about what you say, and how you say it.

Connection is 2 way
For as long as I can remember people have said that I am great to talk to.
I find people fascinating and their stories even more so. So, naturally I ask questions, and they talk. People love to talk. And they love the sound of their own names when I ask them more questions.
Of late, I have noticed that I don’t do much talking about my own experiences. Is this because I am too busy asking all the questions, or is it something else.
This book has helped me to understand that real communication is our ability to connect on a deep and personal level. And that goes both ways.

Huge eye opener when it comes to the foundations of good communication
This was a great read, full of insights and real world examples. Loved the story on Big Bang Theory, and Netflix. Much of this book ties into better performance, which was unexpected but also really valuable information. Thank you Charles!

must read for those who want to communicate better
I have read a lot of communication books, but this one is now in my top 5 must read or listen when it comes to communicating . Charles detailed the concepts with interesting stories and backed it up with recent research. the chapters are never boring and it's read in a very engaging way. I have listened to the books twice and I can't wait to read the printed version.

Connectedness
Read all to find that at the end of the day what makes for a happy life is loving neighbour as yourself I.e. making time for connections above all, especially with those we love. This interest in others makes us ‘super communicators’!

Nothing new here
A bit repetitive and predictable lots of old ideas rehashed and repeated not really worth the time and effort and expense of the purchase of the audio book
