Publisher's Summary

Contrary to popular opinion, if you have been diagnosed with type two diabetes or pre-diabetes, you need not resign yourself to a life of deteriorating health and complex regimens of testing and medications. Science and modern research show that a proper diet and exercise routine can absolutely reduce your blood sugar levels and keep them in the healthy range daily, freeing you from insulin dependence and the other drugs that facilitate the normalizing of your blood glucose day in and day out. We've heard an insistent drumbeat from the medical community, over the last 35 years, on the benefits of cutting fat from our diets; however, we'll show how that myth actually undermines vitality. Sustainable weight loss starts with a responsible nutritional plan which eliminates added sugars and bad fats, and which radically reduces simple, processed carbohydrates. This is a summary and analysis of the book and not the original book.

Good Book -!Awful narrator

I’ve read the full book and I wanted this condensed version to bush up on the facts. Sorry but the narrator is terrible and hard to listen to without wanting to block my ears.

Narration poor, really light on

The narration was poor, with emphasis on odd words, and many mispronunciations.

As a summary, it really didn't have much either.

Content: good, Reading: dire

I listened to this book with mounting incredulity that any serious-minded producer could ever allow it to be released in its present form. It is hard to put my finger on exactly what is wrong with the reading; the intonation, fluency and word pronunciation are completely irregular to anything I would expect in daily conversation or any of the TV, print or radio media I consume.
At first, I wondered whether the book was being read by a computer and perhaps I was an unwitting participant in a trial of cutting edge Artificial Intelligence.
I think that it was being read by a human who does not have English as his first language. In fact, I think it was read by a human who only learned English quite recently and then, perhaps having taken a few ideas from Tim Ferris, set out to win a bet by narrating an audiobook in a language that he’d only just learned.
There are literally hundreds of thousands of schoolchildren that would do a better job of reading this book, so who picked this clown and why is a complete mystery to me.
All of that being said, the content is decent and the salient points are satisfactorily covered in 45 minutes so on that basis alone I am happy to give it 4 stars and a solid thumbs up.

Great summary; reader not so great

Like another has said, the narrator mispronounces basic words. And he’s reads it as if it’s a long run on sentence broken up by chapter headings 1,2,3...
it’s s great summary of the book, just needs a different reader.

The narrator was Mispronouncing words

Words the narrator couldn’t pronounce properly included myriad, lipase, Mosley, legumes and no doubt a number of others which don’t come to mind now.

Useful summary however painful to listen to

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

If you're thinking of buying the book it's a useful summary. However, I found it very difficult to listen to. Mispronounce words (lots) and not fluent.

What does Ralph L. Rati bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Nothing

If this book were a film would you go see it?

The book maybe the summary NO
