Publisher's Summary

Start with Why by Simon Sinek is a self-help book for business leaders seeking ways of gaining authenticity through a focus on their purpose.

Most companies rely on manipulations to attract customers and employees; they use short-term motivators that do not inspire or encourage loyalty. Customers who are not inspired will stop buying the product as soon as the company cannot keep up the manipulative strategies, and employees are less motivated and less productive when they are not inspired.

Instead of strategies based on keeping up with competitors and metrics meant to determine the company's basic productivity, companies should form strategies that advance its purpose, or its "why" and find metrics that measure "how" the company advances that "why". Only with a firm idea of why the company does its work and how it intends to fulfill that purpose can employees then decide what to do at work.

Please note: This is key takeaways and analysis of the book and not the original book.

Summary for a Book Who's Title is the Book

Glad I choose a Summary, instead of the Book, but you've already read the Book when you read the title. You'll learn more Listening to other Audio Programs

Summary of Start with Why

This is a great summary of the book Start with Why as it removes all the repetitive points and examples. It is a quick read at less than 30 minutes versus 8 hours of the full book. This version is good, but it’s just a summary of a badly written book.

Disconnection between the WhY and Z

the premise and concept are sound, however, the message from the summary didn't quite connect.
I got this to get a sense of the key nuggets contained in the main book; the paperback of which I already purchased.

unfortunately, the audio summary hasn't inspired me to invest further time in reading the book.

however, I do enjoy Simons Ted talks and appearances on Tom's show .

I believe you have to have a big enough "why" to sustain and push you through the tough moments or times. case in point, investing time to read the book...

Summary of Simek: Why Analysis matters

Would you consider the audio edition of Summary of Start with Why by Simon Sinek to be better than the print version?

No, but the great thing about this summary is that it includes an analysis which provides me details to consider buying the full versions, whether audio or print.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Summary of Start with Why by Simon Sinek?

The analysis - it provides enough details to consider the full version

Also, compared to some other summaries, the selection of summary material is better than most

Which character – as performed by Dwight Equitz – was your favorite?

This was non-fiction.

However, cadence, tone, etc. are better than most summaries I've listened to, which seem to be nearly childish in nature

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

poor narrator

this instaread version is a waste.. the narrator is unenthusiastic, and underwhelming.. Simon Sinek is much better.
