About this listen

“An excellent read.”

St. Petersburg Times

“An often hilarious, always candid and astutely observed memoir chronicling a life observed, largely, from the vantage point of a drum throne.”

Buffalo News

Rock legend Stewart Copeland, drummer for seminal pop trio The Police, shares his stories from before, during, and after his days with Sting and Andy Summers, in one of the most popular and influential bands of the eighties. Strange Things Happen indeed.

A fascinating and funny insight into the culture of celebrity. The sacred, the profane, the exotic and mundane. What we (the fans) saw versus the behind-the-scenes realities, and the machines and creatives who made these realities and illusions happen. And still do. I’m surprised that Stewart was able to sit still long enough to compile these wonderfully illustrative anecdotes and insights. Loved it!

Loved it. This is one book that bears multiple listens, humourous, eccentric and radical at times, and downright confronting at other times. Great read.
