Publisher's Summary

They thought they could get away with murder, but then Keeler showed up.

Ex-Special Forces operator Tom Keeler is a rambling man. He’s just passing through the town of Alencourt, France, and in less than an hour, someone tries to kill him. Nice place, nice try. But it’s a case of mistaken identity, and they picked the wrong guy. The French police can’t be trusted, except for the beautiful Cecile Nazari. She finds out fast that keeping up with Keeler is a dangerous occupation. Because someone’s preying on the weak and unprotected. Someone murderous. But they never counted on coming up against a guy like Keeler.

Mildly entertaining but dreadful narration.

The story is very Reacher like but entertaining otherwise. It was completely spoilt by an incoherent narrator. What were you thinking having it narrated in this manner.

Excellent

Excellent book but I would have thought I was listening to a Lee Childs book on Jack Reacher very similar and as enjoyable

A great action packed story

This is the second time I’ve listened to this and it’s still riveting. Very much worth it.

A cure for my Reacher fix

I love the Reacher books. It’s great escapism full of interesting insights.
Well Tom Keeler is the best alternative I have come across and great fun.
Good plots expertly read by Jeff Hardy

Awesome adventure

Captivating and well-constructed! Likeable characters; attentive detail. Solid alternative for Reacher fans. I will definitely look for more stories by this author. Well done, Jack Lively! Another awesome narration by Jeff Harding.

Same same but hardly different

Reacher - Retired Army drifter, Keeler - Retired Air Force drifter. Reacher likes bashing heads and describing it in detail, Keeler likes bashing heads and describing it in detail. Reacher - French Mother, Keeler - French Mother. Reacher - no mobile phone and somewhat of a Luddite, Keeler - no mobile phone and somewhat of a Luddite, Reacher's favourite saying - " that's for damn sure", Keeler's favourite saying - "that's for damn sure". Reacher - women love him and want to take him to bed, Keeler - women love him and want to take him to bed. Reacher - travels with no luggage or possessions, Keeler - travels with a small backpack and no other possessions, and the list keeps going.

Like the other reviewers have said this is Jack Reacher's Doppelganger.

Copycat Reacher - Still Great

Even though I had read the reviews I was still surprised at the echoes of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher - probably closer to the earlier books than the later ones.
I love Jeff Harding as a narrator but I’m unsure if using him was a bit much as I kept thinking Reacher not Keeler. Nonetheless it was a good story and if you enjoy Reacher novels you’ll enjoy this one.
I’m going to get the next one and see if I can get over my Reacher bias.
