Ma nessuno può negare ch'esso sia stato immenso e che soprattutto siano stati vari, vivaci e affascinanti i suoi protagonisti Indro Montanelli. I greci di Montanelli sono nostri contemporanei. Molte le affinità e i confronti anche paradossali: Omero era il "poeta della Confindustria", Platone un totalitario che "se vivesse oggi, riceverebbe il premio Stalin".
