Oliver Brightly

I'm halfway across the world in a bar in London celebrating my last year of vet school when I spot the sexiest silver fox I've ever seen. We flirt, we kiss, and I have one of the best nights of my life. I'm sure I'll never see him again, which is why I don't give him my real name.

Weeks later, I walk into Stonewall Investigations in Miami looking for help and who do I find? A certain silver-haired fox with a cocky grin and an accent that makes my knees melt.

Beckham Noble

I went back to London so I could bury my father and put our rocky past to rest. Drinking the evening away at a pub would be the emotionally therapeutic thing to do. That's where I met one of the most interesting and attractive guys I'd ever chatted with, one I wanted to get to know from his head to his toes. One I was sure I would never see again.

Cut to three weeks later, when the object of my intense desire walks into my office looking for help with a murder that had been haunting him for years.

Contains mature themes.

Almost didn't finish

Oliver is entirely too queeny-fey-gay for me, both in the writing and the narration. And I find it highly implausible that a butch older man would ever be so enthralled with a fluffy twink in pink. Having just listened to the first book in the series, this one became even more tiresome with the same predictable self-doubting ennui reversing the plot again and again. This author might turn out to be a one trick pony, I'll have to be careful odd getting and more of his books.

Sweet story & awesome narrator.

I've always loved the Stonewall Investigation series, and have followed them for a while. The stories are put together so nicely and the plot keeps me engrossed, page after page. I've actually found myself with tears rolling down my face, on occasions. I will have to give a good part of the credit to the narrator. His ability to keep the characters separated from one another, by tone and octave is astonishing, and the passion he exhibits in gripping. All in all, I highly recommend this series.

Amazing Voice Talent Performance, But a Little....

So far this is the one Stonewall Investigation book I struggled to finish, and honestly the only reason I did was to confirm my hunch on the villain. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good story and you want the protagonists to champion over all the obstacles thrown in their way. Where I struggled is one of the main characters just kept falling into the ‘damsel in distress’ mindset which ultimately I found irritating two-thirds into the book. I just kept waiting for him to get mad, stop being the victim, to start fighting back but it just never happened. I honestly got to a point where I kinda wanted the villain to win. It’s not a bad story and if someone needing to constantly be rescued doesn’t bother you then I highly recommend it. Not everyone can be Linda Hamilton in Terminator. PS, once again absolutely amazing voice talent. Greg Boudreaux deserves an award for his work.

Another great addition

Great audio book. I Love that all the characters are in each book and the thrilling situations each book has covered. Always, Love Greg Boudreaux and his awesome narrating. He brings the characters to life and let's you see each situation through his words... Bring on book 3 in the series...Lie with Me is well worth the credit and your time to listen....

Miami Nice!

I have loved everyone of Max Walker’s Stonewall Investigations Series but Lie With Me featuring Beckham and Oliver is my absolute favourite. Despite the age gap and the tragedy the two characters have in their past and the threats and intimidation Oliver is experiencing in the present, their relationship is loving and solid. I am extremely impressed with Max Walker’s writing of Beckham’s British character, it was very authentic, which was taken to the next level by the excellent talent of Greg Boudreaux.
