A SLOOOOOOOW BUILD TO AWESOME

I’ll miss these sweet caring Stone brothers (and their significant others) as this very enjoyable series comes to an end.. but they’ve left me with happy memories of how they each struggled to get their HEA ending. And Kyle must of mentally struggled the most because, as a Doctor (a second yr Resident) ethics overruled what his heart and body already knew.. that Elizabeth, his mysterious pregnant patient, was his. But it wasn’t just one-sided because Elizabeth felt their chemistry too, their connection and their wealth of similarities.. however she had secrets.. BIG secrets and, no-matter how close they became, her past ruled and ruined her future and all that was left was a woman hoping for the impossible. This book was told in two parts.. the first from Kyle’s POV and the second from Elizabeth’s - it was a very sloooooow burn before these two were eventually granted the impossible and that was only possible because Elizabeth’s past finally caught up with her. I loved the story however for me there were a couple of BUTs too. There were sex scenes early on BUT they were with his f...buddy and fellow Resident Gina.. I thought there were just too many and each one made my heart sink a little - I would’ve preferred it if they could’ve just been hinted at and referred to as they were the only intimacies until way waaaay into the second part of the book. The slow build was well written BUT was painfully slow and sometimes the budding romance took a backseat while the descriptive ER-building took centre stage and sadly it was heartbreaking too. However, it’s still a solid 4 star listen.. it just took its time to ferment and grow into something truly wonderful. Worth a credit? Definitely YES and I think that’s because Erin and Jason’s awesome narration brought the one dimensional to life, gave characters heartbeats and conveyed all the necessary feels in a rollercoaster ride.

I really enjoyed this book. So far all of the Stone brothers have stolen my heart. This book was a little different, it almost felt like 2 books in 1. The first part took place almost entirely in the hospital. I loved the way Kyle & Elizabeth got to know each other. They had time to fall in love and I always love that in books. It helps me to fall into the story completely. The second 1/2 of the book, outside the hospital was good but it felt a little rushed and a little predictable. That didn't change that I loved it and Kyle & Alexa's story!! Again the narration is amazing!!! Erin Mallon & Jason Clarke are both rock stars!

Nauseating

I’m usually pretty upbeat and try not to say bad things about a book, but this is awful. The characters are super immoral. A resident falling in love w a homeless pregnant patient and then performs her csec and still participated as her physician is beyond gross, controlling and possessive in a terrible way. I only listened to as far as I could because I love Jason clarks performance and voice. He can make anything good. The entire second half of the book is narrated by Erin, it’s awful. Erin is breathy, high pitched and unbearable. The female character is disgusting and weak. She uses and abuses everyone around her and still ends up with it all. This book portrays a terrible message to any young female. Stay away from this book.

Almost perfection..

Standing ovation to Samantha Christy for yet another great book and series. This book was the exclamation point for me! Erin Mallon was great as always, but Jason Clarke I lack a word a word for. Stupendous? I thought it was very best work. The entire way through the hospital and/ot Kyle's part of the book...I was glued to my earbuds. Extremely well written. I could visualize everything. I do feel it was a tiny bit anti-climactic, but maybe it's because I just didn't want it to end. 5 Stars!

My favorite

Though I certainly enjoyed each of the stone brothers this was my favorite. I laughed and even cried real tears as so many real pictures were painted in my head. Being in healthcare I absolutely lived this. It was well written and hard to put down.

slow but worthwhile

JC is one of my 5 favorite narrators. He read the first 6:10 minutes of the book which was part one. I liked part one quite a bit with the exception of the number of times he goes over the "she's off limits" thing. Part 2 was 3:55 minutes if EM which is way too much. Aside from that it was terribly boring, dragged and dragged and could have been less than half that time.

Kyle & Lexi

▪▪▪Review contains spoilers▪▪▪ Audible Escapes review. Dual POV (part one is  Kyle's and part two is Alexa's). Book 3 in the Stone Brothers trilogy. Narration: Erin seems to have a growling tone throughout but Jason dies a good job. Trigger warnings: miscarriages, deaf baby, domestic violence and rape (no details), medical emergencies with ER patients. **uncertain of the spelling of character names** Dr Kyle Stone (27; aka Porn Star) is a 2nd year resident in emergency medicine and the youngest of three boys. He wants to change the world one patient at a time. He had a crush on Mallory when they were younger. He found out his name was the same as a porn star when he was 12, Ethan wallpapered his bedroom with the porn star's pictures after they found out. He's currently single but Gina is his friend with benefits. Alexa Octavia Lucas (25; alias Elizabeth Smith; maiden name Kessler; aka Lexi, Lex) is a pregnant woman seated outside the emergency room when Kyle finds her and helps her inside after reassuring her that no matter what her financial status is the hospital will treat her. She's bleeding at 32 weeks pregnant without insurance on a dog walker's pay. After checking her out and clearing her with instructions to rest she leaves. She calls Kyle scared because she's bleeding again. Kyle tells her to go to the ER where they discover her condition is worse and admit her. While a patient, Kyle learns that she's a baseball fan and has degrees in literature and elementary education.  As they get to know each other they play "Never Have I Ever" for jello and learn that in the 10th grade Chad broke his leg after Beauty bucked him off; that Lexi has stitches from a scooter accident at 8 years old in her ankle, at 14 years old from a softball incident on her left elbow, and that she fell into the corner of a table when she was 23 cutting her collar bone. His parents moved to CA when he was 15. Kyle's never been married. Kyle stole sunglasses in the mall when he was 15 which is how Chad was discovered. That Lexi has a tattoo and found out later it's of 2 hearts with "Grant" across them on the inside of her left wrist and much later changes it to "take nothing for granted." While in the hospital, Mallory, Baylor, Skylar and Piper visit Lexi to keep her company at Kyle's request. There's a building fire emergency that deeply effected Kyle when his patient dies. Kyle & Lexi have in room hospital dates with Chinese food and share fortune cookies. Kyle arranges Lexi's favorite baseball player to visit her but she is suddenly ill when he arrives. Gina walked in Lexi's hospital room when they Kyle & Lexi shared their first kiss. Kyle assists in Lexi's c-section at 37 weeks. Kyle gives her a cloth wrist band to cover her tattoo of "Grant" after her daughter is born. Lexi agrees to live with Kyle and then Gina told Lexi that Kyle is paying her hospital bills. Lexi left the hospital before Kyle got there and disappears. 6 months later, Cameron and Gina are together. Grant shows up looking for Lexi. Kyle goes to Ethan for help finding her, finds out she's been missing for a year, there were police records with pictures of her abuse, that her real name is Alexa Lucas, her maiden name was Kessler, and that Caden is her younger brother. Kyle met with Caden to tell him. Alexa shows up on Kyle's doorstep with her daughter, Ellie. Kyle texted Caden to come. The 3 of them go to get all of her belongings and move her in with Kyle. Baylor hired Lexi as her assistant. Lexi has Skylar's hair stylist change her hair back to brown. Piper & Mason set a wedding date after being engaged for 3 years. Lexi asked Caden to raise Ellie if anything ever happens to her. Skylar & Piper went with Lexi to change her tattoo. Mason & Piper get married and dying their reception Grant accosts Lexi, realizes Ellie is not only deaf but his, reveals he wants a divorce, and had another child with his mistress. Kyle declares his love for Lexi and he proposes to her "will you marry me some day?" Dr. Stone is just what the doctor ordered!

I loved all three Stone brothers. I fell hard for Dr. Stone. It isn't too often that there is a swoony hero that comes from money and has a heart bigger than his bank account. He may be a bit cocky, but is a big softy underneath. Kyle is a second year resident who has a good thing going with Gina, a fellow resident...friends with benefits, neither of them looking for more. And then Kyle meets Elizabeth. A very pregnant, very mysterious girl down on her luck. This isn't a fast HEA book. This book has substance. It's a bit of a slow burn. Kyle realizes friends with benefits isn't what he wants and friends to lovers comes home with the WIN! Beautifully narrated by Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke!

happy ending

god at the beginning of this story I wanted to kill him so bad, it was driving me nuts that he kept having sex with that other girl. then after the baby and she ran away I was in shock. but when she showed back up and worked out stuff that made me happy. I had so many Up's and down's on this book, I'm sad that they are over! 😔

Stone Vows

Yet again a great reading performance from Jason and Erin. I’ve read the book several time’s, so to hear it brought to life this way was amazing, they both certainly did it justice. The final book in the Stone Brothers series is another tough one, domestic abuse being the subject. Samantha yet again brings this all together In a fantastic rollercoaster of a story.
