Publisher's Summary

First, hate. Then, want. But in the end? Heartbreak.

My celebrity life was supposed to be easy, and this movie was the biggest break of my career. But from the moment Officer Levi Fox gave me a speeding ticket on my way into town, he's been nothing but a thorn in my side.

Dominant. Cocky. Callous. Midnight blue eyes, a bad attitude, and muscles for days, he's exactly the kind of man I should avoid. But as the Cold, Montana Police Department's official movie liaison, he's taken up a permanent place in my life that I can't shake.

We fight. A lot. Then, we kiss - and my carefully crafted hate toward him no longer feels so much like hate.

I'm falling, falling, falling. But how often do alpha-jerks cushion the landing?

Cliffhanger but ok story

First off, I should have done a better job reading the reviews to realize that this is a three story series. Oops. That's on me (although I do think it would be best for authors to make this very clear). That said, I thought that the first book was a little slow (and for a pretty short audiobook at about 6 hours, the fact that it felt long is probably a bit telling).

The idea behind it is that Levi is a policeman and Ivy is an actress who is playing his ex partner in a movie role. He has to help her to make sure it's as authentic as possible. They don't like each other in the beginning although there is chemistry. Levi is pretty angry that the movie is being made. They fight the attraction and...yeah. The story ends in a cliffhanger but I don't feel like anything substantive happened. I know it's set up so eventually I'll likely go back to the story but it wasn't all that interesting enough to make it to the top of my list.

I listened to the audiobook through audible escape. Alexander Cendese was good as a male character but as a female, his voice sounded forced. I've listened to him before and it is consistent so I knew this going in. Eva Kaminsky is new to me and she did pretty well.

Story premise has potential ...

I like the story potential, however, this is just Book 1 & will hopefully meet that potential through Books 2 & 3. (I have them lined up to go). I like the characters as well as the small town/Hollywood conundrum.

The problem I’m having has been mentioned before... the male narrator for Officer Levi Fox. No way, would our beautiful Alpha male (even with PTSD ) sounds so excited to the point of incessant redundancy.

I’m planning to hang in for the next two...but it will take a little longer as I have to stop listening from time to time due to incongruent narration for my Alpha Fox.

First book in a series, so it ends in a cliffhanger.

Since this is the first book in this series, which I figured before getting, it ends in a cliffhanger. Lucky, I subscribe to audible escape, so I don’t really waste a credit. I did enjoy it and am looking forward to the next two books in this series.

Very disappointing

I struggled getting through this book so not to discover there was no ending. It carries over to another body ok. The male narrator was so annoying it was hard to listen to. He over emphasized everything he says s and put inflections in the wrong place. I will no listen to the next one.
