Publisher's Summary

When the Veteran Head of Botanicals at the world-famous Cherringham Gin Company is suddenly found dead at the Distillery, it seems at first a strange accident must have taken place. But some family members aren’t convinced, and Jack and Sarah are asked to investigate by old friend, solicitor Tony Standish. Soon they discover clues that the eccentric genius behind the famous gin may have been murdered - with a rich cocktail of motives in play. Can the bizarre mystery be solved and the killer found before he strikes again?

Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing duo: English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby. Each of the self-contained episodes is a quick read for the morning commute, while waiting for the doctor, or when curling up with a hot cuppa.

Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid-90s, creating content and working on projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, and the best-selling mystery series Cherringham. Their latest series project is called Mydworth Mysteries.

The narrator of the audiobook, Neil Dudgeon, has been in many British television programmes including the roles of 'DCI John Barnaby' in Midsomer Murders and 'Jim Riley' in The Life of Riley. He is also known for his film roles in The Nativity, Sorted and Son of Rambow. In 2012 Dudgeon starred as 'Norman Birkett' on BBC Radio 4's Afternoon Play series written by Caroline and David Stafford.

I love listening to Neil Dudgeon.

His voice is like a comfortable pair of slippers that you want to wear forever. If I'm feeling miserable I turn on an audible book with Neil narrating.

Love the stories, excellent co-authorship. Neil Dudgeon outstanding actor, but voice fry grating not very pleasant

I normally give these most excellent short stories 5 stars across the ratings, but the outstanding actor, Neil Dudgeon , is progressing into the unpleasant habit of voice fry that makes listening somewhat trying. Rest dear sir, you do have a lovely voice, i am sure this will resolved if addressed w a voice coach

Great series Jack and Sarah are very clever and do a great job

I love this series. I hate that it takes so long before I get to listen to the next one. I keep hoping that Sarah and jack will get together. Neil Dudgeon does a great job of narration. I now have to wait until May for the next one. Much to long.

More twists and turns!

I do love this series, the shorts and the full length (hope we get more of those, please), and there have been some with plot twists but in this one are the "good" guys really the "bad" guys? Keep reading and you will surely find out!

Cheers to Costello, Richards, and Dudgeon! 🍸

Thanks for another great Cherringham story!
I am a huge fan of the whole series-- I have also watched Midsomer Murders with Neil Dudgeon. (Luckily I can stream them on my phone and TV.)

Cherringham's Jack and Sarah have kept me company all last winter--through 2020 lockdown, and Colorado snow storms. I love British murder mysteries and detective stories. ❤️

Love it as usual

Great book. Read by Neil Dudgeon; perfect except for one reading as Sara. His voice was a little off; but who cares. Everything was perfection; as usual.
Love this series. Surely we can get at least two or more stories out of everyone!

Excellent Cosy Crime

Suspect American accents aside (which are never easy) a very good listen. Plot sophisticated and understated. Would recommend.

Still Good

If you're a fan of this series you won't be disappointed. Neil Dudgeon's narration is effortlessly on point, no over the top histrionics or self indulgent over acting here. These stories are the cream of the cosy crime genre. Enjoy!

Back on form

After a long pandemic hiatus and then two mediocre instalments, it was a relief to find the authors can still put together a great little story.
Rather a Midsomer tale, set in a gin distillery, but with a satisfyingly intricate plot, multilayered characters and a full Cherringham cast.
