Audio Quality patchy

I'm not loving some sections of the audio due to quality of recording. The book has great moments i think i'll get the physical book to finish.

Exactly right

If you love the podcast, you'll love this. It's all about the two women who make us laugh, cry and feel less alone. Less murder, more vulnerability. Loved it.

Good with some jarring audio

Great book but there are some sections recorded during live shows which are jarring because the audio sounds so different.

Personality didn't seem to come through

Obviously a different medium, but I missed the smooth Karen and Georgia duo that feed off each other! Most of the stories and anecdotes are recorded throughout the episodes in snippets but it is nice to get a full picture of influencing experiences in the girl's lives. Writing seemed a little generic, but I'm sure it is hard to write a book as two people. Loved some of the empowering life lessons and mantras the girls eloquently expressed - I am now aware that 'violence against women' should be actually 'MEN THAT ARE violent against women' - so many new perspectives and enlightening truths. Good book for a casual biographical style read.

Loved this.

I'm a fan of their podcast, but you get to know so much more about them and where they started in this book. I laughed and actually felt real emotions (rare) while listening to them tell their stories. Life isn't always polished and perfect, Karen and Georgia really reminded me of this. I am ok. And I'm so grateful for the lessons I learnt while listening to this. I will be listening to it again soon, I loved it so much.

How to find your people all over again

I've been avidly listening to Karen and Georgia for the last couple of years. They've kept me company during my lonesome night drives with their fast paced chatter on all that is murder and mystery and just plain bullshit. I didn't expect this slower, more measured approach to hit so deeply, and was caught off guard when I came to the end. So beautifully said. I'm going back to the start.

it's wonderful. I hope they write another book!

It is a wonderful book. it takes a minute to get used to the different feel, but then it's so nice hearing these heartfelt stories told by two of your favorite people (and Paul Giamatti). oh and a cameo by Marty! 😄 I definitely cried more than once. I'll be listening many times for sure! SSDGM

I'm sad it's over, I loved it so much. It felt I was with my friends, listening to their stories...just like their podcast. The book was insightful, delightful and so relatable. Amazing

I never knew I could feel like I was a part of something so amazing, although I live in South Africa and it seems so far away I feel a deep connection with Karen and Georgia and all the wonderful murderinos! THANK you for your honesty and your vulnerability with the deeply personal things that sometimes seem to be too scary to share! You guys are amazing

I cried most of the way through but in a good way

Upfront I’ve gotta say: if you don’t love Karen and Georgia or their podcast or their accents then this isn’t for you. (I mean you should think about that because they’re objectively wonderful but that’s between you and your therapist). I loved the references to their famous quotes, and how their anecdotes linked so cleverly to each chapter. I love that some of the parts are recorded from live readings, the audience being there feels a bit like the live show podcast episodes and I love it. I respect their vulnerability, honesty and ability to share the sides of themselves that don’t make them look good. But sharing those things actually makes me know they are GREAT because they’ve put vanity aside so that we can all relate and feel better about the shitty parts of ourselves. Anyway. I bought it yesterday and have listened twice so what more can I say?

Nothing new here

You won't really learn anything new from this book, I was hoping for more memoir and less self help. It's fine, it's pretty much just what you get on the podcast and stories you've already heard.

This book is everything!

Karen and Georgia have created a space in which mental health, fascinations with the macabre, being vulnerable and making mistakes are all okay, and are bringing more people to the table to show who they are and what they stand for. I’m so proud to be part of this incredible community of listeners, and the book reflects what they stand for entirely. Brave, beautiful, funny, emotional, and unashamedly themselves. Thank you Karen and Georgia for sharing your vulnerability with us and for giving us an insight into your own experiences; leading the way to show other badass women that you can do anything you put your mind to! Bravo ladies, bravo!

Exactly right

Genuine, hilarious, nostalgic and deeply relatable, this audiobook was a perfect listen and a must for any listeners of MFM. Georgia and Karen reading their parts of the book themselves made this audiobook extra special due to the personal and vulnerable topics covered. Karen’s witty play-by-play of a typical latchkey kid afternoon made me laugh and talking about her mother and dementia made me cry and call my mum just to say hi.

Unsurprisingly, as a massive fan of the podcast, and a self declared murderino, I loved this audio book. Surprisingly Karen made me cry. Twice. The chapter where she talks about her mother I found deeply moving, you can tell the depth of love and respect there was. I loved finding out a bit more about the ladies and enjoyed Georgia's chapter on the camping in the forest with her dad and siblings. The format of incorporating audio clips from love shows and sound bites I found fun and mirrored the format of the podcast. All in all, if you're a murderino you're guna love this. SSDGM.

An entertaining, inspirational and moving read

The narrators, Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, present their inspirational, witty and moving life stories that has led to their interest in true crime. I really enjoyed their mixing of narration intermingled with reading to a live audience. Vulnerable, humorous and touching, I highly recommend this excellent audiobook to any MFM listeners! Hope another book is in the cards for the future :)
