Publisher's Summary

Carlo Ancelotti is one of the greatest managers of all time, with five Champions League titles to his name. Yet his approach could not be further from the aggressive theatricals favoured by many of his rivals. His understated style has earned him the fierce loyalty of players like David Beckham, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo.

In Quiet Leadership, Ancelotti reveals the full riveting story of his managerial career - his methods, mentors, mistakes and triumphs - and takes us inside the dressing room to trace the characters, challenges and decisions that have shaped him. The result is both a scintillating memoir and a rare insight into the business of leadership.

"Candy for any leader who also loves football. "

I completed this book in less than 24hrs. It was completely engaging, a very honest work. It was very refreshing to find an extremely successful man who knew his 'quiet' strengths and stuck to them. The leadership principles in the book are very solid but have also been integrated seamlessly into the practical the experiences of Carlo.

The book was very interesting especially considering I am a Milan fan. BUT it was repetitive and I found myself listening to the same story over and over again throughout the chapters.

    "A look behind scenes"
Where does Quiet Leadership rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I'm a football fan, so my interest was not from a business management perspective.
I like football management and always find the progress of teams under new a new manager very interesting.
I listened to Steven Gerard's autobiography about the same time as this audio book, so it was very interesting to hear Carlo and Alessandro Nesta talk bout the 2005 Champions League final against Liverpool.(Gerard talks about this game from his own perspective)
I wish the narrator had an Italian accent. It would've felt like listening to Carlo himself!
I took away a lot of little bits of information about life, leadership, football management, various club management styles from behind the scenes and PSG's lack of top level infrastructure compared to other top European clubs!!

    "What a politician"

This is quite different to the normal football biography. Carlo's book its almost an instructional guide on how to deal with personalities at a club. Normally in this kind of bio you get some stories on a few players who the author did not get along with but Roman Abramovic and possibly Leonardo are the only people to take a bit of a hit.

Its very interesting to hear a different approach to the 'my way or no way' style that most managers preach.

I came out of this with a higher opinion of Carlo Ancelotti.

"So good, i listened to it twice in a row."

Captivating book, great to listen to in the morning. Not as bloated as Sir Alex's recent forays into management literature.

Show's how much of a gentlemen and respected person Carlo is, by the players he's worked with and their words. A great insight, and definitely worth a listen

    "Quietly interesting"

An interesting philosophy on leading. Some anecdotes but mainly voiced through experience. The word 'quiet' in the title may put people off. This will challenge some that quiet leadership does not mean weak, passive or even submissive. It's another way.

    "Insight"

Agree with a lot of what CA says about leading in his unique way which is often overlooked or misunderstood by owners. Some really good insights and interviews with key individuals in football. Hope he comes to Anfield one day!
