Fantastic Book!

As far as horse books go this is now one if my favourites. Not your typical "how-to", the story captures your heart and pulls you in. The teachings contained within the story will stick with me forever. A huge thank you to Mark Rashid for sharing with us.

Open your mind and let this sink in.

Like the old man in this book, I offer my 2 cents. You can take the suggestion or not, it is here as an amazing opportunity.

Very Moving

This book has entirely changed how I perceive Arabs and Appys. It's always about training! I laughed out loud, I related and I cried. It's such a good book. just like all of his other books.

A true resource.

This title and all of Mark's work has changed my entire thought process when dealing with my horse. I always felt the current training methods lacked and never felt right. Mark has answered my call.

Training in story form

Loved listening to the stories and learning about horse training in an organic way. I learned more about horse behavior from this book more than anything else I've read.

Another fantastic book from Mark Rashid

If you could sum up A Good Horse Is Never a Bad Color in three words, what would they be?

Inspiring, wise, warm

What other book might you compare A Good Horse Is Never a Bad Color to, and why?

Horses Never Lie

What about Mike Chamberlain’s performance did you like?

The narrator's performance was OK, and I definitely prefer him to some of the other narrators of Mark Rashids books, but he was a tiny bit stilted. It didn't detract from enjoying the book, or the quality of the content, however a more skilled narrator could have made this one of those magical audiobooks that you feel empty when they're over.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes absolutely! I do with all Mark Rashid's books. I always finish them within a day or two, and then immediately want to run out and spend time with horses!

Any additional comments?

With this book in particular, you hear a lot of stories about the Old Man who started off MR's own journey with horses. The author mentions the Old Man a few times, but always briefly, in his previous books, but you know that if he ever went into detail about the Old Man it could potentially be something really special, and this book lives up to all that promise and more. A really special and personal book from MR, it can't fail to touch you as well as teach you. I'll be listening to it again and again.

Wow! Thank you for such an inspiring tale

I love the fact that each chapter is a new story and a new lesson. I laughed, angered and cried. This book is a must hear for anyone who lives, works or breathes horses, it holds many valuable insights and lessons that would benefit even the most capable of horse people. I will be sure to try and remember Mark’s words, especially when things get a little “challenging!”
