I love the stories

All the stories are very entertaining; I wish there is a longer vocabulary list. The same vocabulary repeats in one story, so you definitely expand your vocabulary.

Amazing audiobook

I purchased the Audible version so I could train my ears to hear conversational Spanish. This is a great learning tool. The stories are fun, a bit advanced and I don't understand a lot of the conversations, but that gives me reason to listen again and again.

Wonderful audiobook

This is a smart way to get a lot of daily life vocabulary in & would be most enjoyable on the go! Though have a good knowledge of Spanish before you read this if you’re a beginner.

Best short stories I have found so far

I consider myself at the intermediate level in Spanish but I frequently get lost with most other short stories for "beginners". This one is excellent and I was able to follow along and understand the majority of each story. The narration is also very clear and the pace is appropriate. The narrator also speaks excellent English which helps when translating, unlike some of the others I have heard where the narrator speaks English with a thick accent that is sometimes difficult to understand.

A highly entertaining way to learn Spanish

Excellent short and interesting stories to expand and improve your Spanish understanding. Sometimes you wonder why you spent your money on low price books on Amazon but this isn't one of those. It is a full book and will help improve your beginner to intermediate Spanish reading.

second best book

Short stories for beginners I was frustrated by all the paid for 5 star reviews for these books so decided to do my own comparison. Here are the results: 6 audio books compared and ranked by ease of understanding for a beginner with only a few words of Spanish 1. Claudia Orea 4 stars The best of the six I tried. Has verbal translations although oddly these are presented from track 14 onwards after you have listened to the whole thing in just Spanish. Would be better to have the translation next to each story. 2. Alicia Garcia 3 stars written Translation via pdf, no verbal translation. More interesting stories than learning revolution though 3. Learning Revolution - 2/3 stars Has some vocabulary verbally translated although the Spanish accented English is hard to follow. Stories pretty boring (e.g. working as an accountant). Hard to follow for a beginner 4. Olly Richards 2 stars No translation, slightly more interesting stories than learning revolution though Lingo Mastery. Hard to follow for a beginner. 5. Touri Language Learning 1 star Lots of sales pitches for their courses. No translation. Hard to follow. 6. Francisco Ruiz 1 star All of these books were initially published as physical books. They are designed to be read, rather than listened to as audio books. To convert them into audio a Spanish speaker reads the text and a pdf has been added. This doesn’t really work for learning via audio. As a beginner you need more side by translation of the audio, at least initially until a few key phrases have been properly learnt.

Easy and fun way to learn.

I recently got the audiobook to listen to while reading the Kindle version and love the combination. The narration of the book is clear and at a pace that is comfortable for me. I also appreciate being able to hear and pronounce the vocabulary words included in each chapter. After reading and listening several times, I listen without following along in the book and find that both my comprehension and listening skills are improving.

good for advanced beginners

Beautifully read. As one would expect with stories, most of the verbs are past tense... so new beginners like us, still grappling with the simple present, are often left guessing. Once we get as far as learning other verb tenses, I expect we'll get more out of it. Intended perhaps for children (with stories about children), but still interesting for adults. The PDF has the text of all the stories which is very useful.
