About this listen

A gripping literary horror novel about the death of a haunted town

On winter solstice, the birds disappeared, and the mist arrived.

The inhabitants of Nebulah quickly learn not to venture out after dark. But it is hard to stay indoors: Cabin fever sets in, and the mist can be beguiling too.

Eventually only six remain. Like the rest of the townspeople, Pete has nowhere else to go. After he rescues a stranded psychic from a terrible fate, he’s given a warning: He will be dead by solstice unless he leaves town - soon.

This book is a great read and brilliantly executed. The characters are realistic and easy to relate to and the story itself is simply captivating. I most certainly will be keeping an eye out for new publications from Lois Murphy

Amazingly brilliant

A good story bit of an ordinary ending …….. pity the narrator didn’t take the time to learn how to pronounce the Western Australian place names correctly

I was riveted from the get go with this book. The story was fantastic and the town setting haunting. Lots of classic Aussie smatterings of life put in and the narrator really nails the dialogue and colloquialisms. Give this one a go I hope it captures your attention and gives you some insite into a small Aussie town. Sans the ghost parts it's basically small town life
Full body chills for the ending. What a way to end it.

This book a sleeper hit

Soon had me hooked from the two minute mark. The Narrator's dry and distinct storytelling transforms in a snap into an eerie soundscape that chilled me like no other audiobooks has. The story is gripping and richly embroidered with detail both horrifying and beautiful. You won't forget the ending.

Thoroughly enjoyed the narration and 99% of the story.

Not going to spoil the ending. However, the ending does not suit a first person narrative, and leads to much frustration. This type of ending may work in a movie but not in a book.

Overall give it a go, despite the “ending”.

Great Aussie Story but frustrating ending.

An interesting insight into the behaviour of people under stress and how they deal with it.

Intriguing
