Another romance
Book 2 of the Starlight Hill Romance Series.
If Heather's Bell was aiming for a really annoying female character? this story was a success..
Maxine Mitchell is an excellent narrator that can seem to make even a boring story easy to listen to.
This story was a nice romance with Brooke who was the awkward girl in high school and coping through her parents separation, and Billy the up and coming baseballer with a bad rep when it comes to girls..
They share a kiss and a short little friendship in senior year and then he changed his college plans and leaves without saying goodbye...
Years later Brooke makes some bad relationship/business decisions that land her jobless and gossip fodder for the locals and Billy comes back to town after retiring from baseball due to a shoulder injury and buys the vineyard that Brooke was trying to buy..
I liked Brooke at first, but then she was just a bitch to Billy at every turn which got a bit tiresome and I stopped rooting for her...
