Story
Having a surfeit of super powers is great for battling bad guys and saving the world, as Jim (aka Kid Sensation) is finding out, but less useful in dealing with day-to-day situations - like bonding with his superhero father, adjusting to a team environment, and coping with what might be perceived as a growing rivalry between himself and another teen super. On top of all that, despite having a serious girlfriend, he finds himself inexplicably drawn to a new female super he's just met.
Publisher's Summary
Kayo's back and kicking ass. It's been a hard six months since Karen Hashimoto quit being Crushette - number one henchwoman of Doctor Maniac and super-villain extraordinaire - and became Kayo, member of the superhero group, The Good Guys. After winning a candidacy for the most prestigious award possible, Kayo's not-so-far-gone past comes back full-swing, determined to show the world that changing the name doesn't really change the girl. Facing off against friends, foes, and everyone in between, Karen must prove once and for all that she truly is some kind of hero.

The worst ending ever.
Just like the first book in the series, the story flowed well and made you root for the hero. However, it seemed as though the author wanted to turn her into a complete moron at the end. Not only that, he threw in some side story that made it worse.
The book was a four maybe five star all the way up to the epilogue, which completely ruined my impression of the hero, and then stomped on it for good measure. Seriously, I have never seen an author go out of their way to just destroy their whole series like this in an epilogue.... If the author thought this was going to keep me hanging on the edge of my seat for the next book in the series, he was completely off the mark. Not only does he make you think the hero is an idiot, but then he pours salt on the wounds by having a scene from some alternate universe that makes you hate them more. If he would have cut out the epilogues, and had them as the start of the new book as a prologue, it would have worked. The way it is now, i have to admit this is the worst ending to any superhero book I have ever read or listened to in my life. The end wipes out all the good in the story.
bad form, bad bad form.

ruined by an ending.
~If you liked book one, walk away and just feel happy you read a good book, I regret having read book two~ Ending a book with a dark, everything is bad, you are not trusted, bad guy not only gets away but people say you need to kiss their ass... This book has has such a tone shift its shocking. Might have been fine for a tv show episode as part of a 2 part but this is a book, you don't get a climax of bad to then resolve in week rather than the 3+ years so far. You have to wait so long all you are left with is that you were left angry with injustice left in a book that till that point was friendly and a fun story.

Meh
I found the story be interesting but in the end it was just meh. There were glaring plot points that the main character needed to forced to see and the end "twists" really weren't that surprising since anyone could see them from a mile off. Read Superpowereds or the Ex-Humans series if you really want an interesting super hero read.
