Erik Balling (1924-2005) er en dansk film- og tv-instruktør, der udover dette arbejde også beskæftigede sig med teater, iscenesætter og som forfatter. Balling kom til Nordisk Film i 1946 og blev udnævnt som direktør samme sted i 1957. Erik Balling er i særdeleshed kendt for sit arbejde på de 13 Olsen banden-film (1968-1981) og tv-serierne "Huset på Christianshavn" (1970-1977) og "Matador" (1978-1981).
