" مرَّ الملك و حاشيته على رجل عجوز فقير يجلس على حجر كبير فألقى الملك بالسلام على الرجل لكنَّ الرجل لم يرد عليه فانزعج الملك و ذهب إليه و سأله: لماذا لم ترد السلام ؟ فقال له الرجل: لا أرد السلام على من هم أقل مني شأنًا!!.
قال له الملك: فكيف أكون أقل منك شأنًا و أنا ملك البلاد ؟! فقال العجوز: أنت ملك البلاد .. ماذا ستصبح فى المستقبل ؟! فقال له : ملك البلاد و البلاد المجاورة ، فقال له العجوز: ثم ماذا ؟!
فردَّالملك: ملك الأرض كلها ...فقال العجوز: ثم ماذا؟ ، فقال الملك: ثم ولا حاجة !!
فقال له العجوز: أهو أنا بقى ولا حاجة !!"
