How far would you go to belong?

Maya has returned to Princeton for her college reunion - it's been a decade since she graduated, and this visit is special because she will also be attending the graduation of her little sister, Naomi.

But what should have been a dream weekend becomes Maya's worst nightmare when she receives the news that Naomi is dead. The police are calling it an accident, but Maya suspects that there is more to the story than they are letting on.

As Maya pieces together what happened in the months leading up to her sister's death, she begins to realise how much Naomi hid from her. Despite Maya's warnings, Naomi had joined Sterling Club, the most exclusive social club on campus - the same one Maya belonged to. And if she had to guess, Naomi was likely tapped for the secret society within it.

Maya knows that her sister isn't the first person in the society to turn up dead. Now every clue is leading Maya back to the past . . . and to the secret she's been keeping all these years.

This story is ultimately about discotheque truth amongst the lies and gaslighting.
We follow Maya between the present ten years earlier.

Where she was overcome with joy at beginning tagged/ selected to join the prestigious Greystone Society at Princeton.

As a woman of mixed race. Half Black, half Chinese, she is over the moon at being excepted.

She is happy to be part of this elite group , not only for the boost up her social standing, but also the benefits she can gain in life post college.

Greystone people look after their own.

All is looking Rosey, until it not.

A girl, Lila goes missing on a ski trip, later to be found dead under suspicious circumstances.

Cut yo the present, and Maya has learnt of the recent discovery of her, ten years junior, little sister , now also at Princeton, death.

No, no, this is looking awfully familiar to what happened ten years earlier.

And Maya is fully aware of the part she played in that case,

Now the victim is her baby sister Naomi , and Maya is determined to find out why .

I great tension filled suspenseful story ,
Bring tons from multiple POV’s Naomi & Maya and two different time periods.

It builds to a dramatic tension filled ending

I enjoying this, ultimately. Heartbreaking story
But if there is one thing to me learned..
Don’t take people, or what they tell you, on face value .

Disappointing as I had heard good things. Dialogue was cliched and felt like young adult fiction
