It’s a fantastic storyline to show how people can judge and condemn people into a box and how acts of kindness can lead to them fighting for themselves and passing that forward

I love Kylie Scott’s approach to providing intrigue by placing relatable characters in extraordinary situations. The heroine makes the common mistake of falling for the wrong man, and her story cascades from there.
Kylie writes a variety of heroes - some broody and controlling (Because the Night), some charming and chaotic (Play), and some , like Noah, are competent, reliable and approachable. Noah might be my favourite kind of hero. He’s immediately likeable, so it’s believable that Sidney would be moved to risk the development of their initial friendship. There have already been enough arseholes with control issues in Sidney’s life.
Another feature that I appreciate about Kylie’s writing is that her central characters have lives that exist outside the romance that is being crafted. I usually enjoy the characters who round out the cast, and especially when they include a dog, which So My Ex-Boyfriend does.
If you are already a Kylie Scott fan, then this is bound to be one for you. If not, then this is a good place to start, and then go get the back catalogue!

Excellent dialogue-driven storytelling, well suited to Andi Arndt’s skills in alternating character voices.

I feel like this would be better read than listened to. But, it hit all the good things you expect from a Kylie Scott novel.
