I was very engaged with this story from the beginning. As a true crime podcast fan I like to think I chose responsible hosts but I have heard an occasional comment which has made me wince for those left behind. This author tells the tale of someone badly affected by the killer, some police and some of the public. I think it must have been very well researched and is an important story inspiring listeners to listen and read about true crime with some more understanding and discernment. This author tells a great tale. Can’t wait to read more!

Honestly, the title and premise didn’t hook me at first, but as a longtime Kylie Scott fan, I gave it a try—especially since I received a free Audible copy. I’m very selective with audiobooks, and if the story doesn’t engage me or the narration feels off, I stop listening. But this one? I finished it in two days.
The story follows Sidney Walsh, who made a terrible mistake as a teen: falling for Ryan, now a convicted serial killer. To save himself, Ryan shifts blame onto Sidney, accusing her of being his accomplice. A decade later, she’s still living under a cloud of suspicion, targeted by the public, media, police, and Ryan’s obsessive supporters.
Despite the hate and danger, Sidney is determined to locate the missing victims’ bodies and bring closure to their families. Along the way, she’s supported by two loyal friends—and maybe finds a spark with her sexy neighbor.
The audiobook kept me hooked, emotionally invested, and furious at the injustice Sidney faces. The narrator was spot-on, enhancing every moment.
If you’re a Kylie Scott fan—or just love a smart, gripping suspense—this one’s worth your time.

This was a great book! I loved that it was fast paced, the characters were very reasonable and relatable, and it didn’t have any outlandish plot devices that usually frustrate me. Definitely recommend!
