One of the hardest parts of game mastering is coming up with interesting adventure locations for our characters to explore. These locations need to be fantastic, detailed places that capture the minds of our players every session we run. Sly Flourish's Fantastic Locations is an audiobook of 20 system-agnostic locations you can drop into your favorite fantasy role-playing game. Each location builds on a fantastic theme, such as a mysterious ancient structure under the ice, a cursed castle of a mad king, or a fallen celestial fortress.

Some of the parchment pages were the color of cream, thick and substantial, made to last many, many lifetimes. Other pages were thin and desiccated, positively yellow from age, and crackled alarmingly as Van Richten turned them over. There were no ornate illuminations, no fussy borders, only lines of plain text in hard black ink. The flowing handwriting was a bit difficult to follow at first; the writer's style of calligraphy had not been in common use for 300 years. No table of contents, but from the dates it looked to be some kind of history.

The essential elements for building a world. Roleplaying games and fantasy fiction are filled with rich and fascinating worlds: the Forgotten Realms, Glorantha, Narnia, R'lyeh, Middle-earth, Barsoom, and so many more. It took startling leaps of imagination as well as careful thought and planning to create places like these: places that readers and players want to come back to again and again.

Lifelong friends, they went their separate ways. Now they are together again, though each holds secrets from the others in his heart. They speak of a world shadowed with rumors of war. They speak of tales of strange monsters, creatures of myth, creatures of legend. They do not speak of their secrets. Not then. Not until a chance encounter with a beautiful, sorrowful woman, who bears a magical crystal staff, draws the companions deeper into the shadows, forever changing their lives and shaping the fate of the world.

Old memories

Publisher's Summary
Five years ago, the Lazy Dungeon Master offered a simplifed approach for preparing fantasy RPGs with one clear directive: Prepare only what most benefits our games. This focus on lightweight preparation and improvisational preparation resonated with many GMs over the past five years.
But during that time and with the release of the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons, the world of fantasy roleplaying has changed and expanded. With five years of new systems and new ideas, all GMs have a wealth of experiences to share and explore to help us prepare and run great RPGs.
Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master builds off of the concepts of the well-received GM's guidebook Lazy Dungeon Master, updating that book with five years of new experiences, new approaches, and new observations of the way people prepare and run RPGs. This new book is a completely self-contained work, which does not require anyone to have previously heard the Lazy Dungeon Master.
Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master offers a new focused approach for preparing and running our roleplaying games. The book includes an eight-step guide for lightweight game preparation and is focused on how we prepare for our games, how we run our games, and how we think about our games.

A helpful resource, well worth your time
This book is full of good advice. I strongly feel that it has helped my tension mastering. The book is short and straight to the point. It has a strong focus on making improvisation easier, something useful even if you Play a system other than a Dungeons and Dragons. The advice in this book is very system agnostic and I recommend it to anyone who’s friends enjoy their time behind the screen

A fantastic resource for all GM's
this book has dramatically expanded and improved the way I prepare for games. the advice is sound and very practical. highly recommended. I also picked up a PDF to use as reference as the audio alone can be difficult to refer to during preparation

Indispensable
Hosting a fantasy role playing game and taking on the responsibility of being the dungeon master can be a daunting task. Sly Flourish’s Return Of The Lazy Dungeon Master is an indispensable resource for getting the most out your preparation time and developing the ability to improvise at the table more effectively.

I really enjoyed this book, maybe I wasn’t ready though.
This book is geared towards people that are creating their own adventures, but it was also helpful to me as a new DM. I was able to gleam so great info. The narrator’s voice was in a low tone, almost like he was whispering the book so no one else would hear. I really enjoyed it though and will refer to it often.

Amazingly helpful!
This book helped me out tremendously! I was thrown into being a DM because somebody backed out. So I had a week to prepare and pick a new story. This book helped me so much with the prep of the game, and according to my friends I did pretty well :)

Perfect tool for aspiring GM
If you're a games master with any experience, you've had sessions that just didn't feel quite right. Your players skipped every plot hook you threw at them and left you completely unprepared. This guide alongside basic improvisational skills gives you everything that you need to consistently provide quality gaming sessions for your players on a consistent basis. The only complaint that I have is that when listening to the recording without a personal copy of the book, referencing back to the concepts can be somewhat difficult.

Saved me hours of prep time
I follow a few YouTube DM guide channels such as MCDM and I wasn't sure if I needed this book. I am now extremely glad I bought this since much of the advice here is unique and I will be applying most of it to my games. I run 2 D&D games and a starfinder game and spend way too much time prepping. This book has saved me hours of prep time weekly with a few simple methods and approaches to prepping. If you haven't heard lazy DM before you need this audiobook!!

Pretty much the most useful book in my DM arsenal.
Incredible stuff here. If you're a GM that struggles with the time management of life vs game development, this will undoubtedly have some great knowledge to help you out.
I'm DMing again for the first time in years with the newfound confidence in myself and my preparations, despite having less time than ever before.
Thank you, Sly Flourish, for producing this book and helping me get back into my passion.

Well worth a listen!
Well read and easy to digest in the form of an audio book. Probably worth listening to a couple of times to have it digest
