Publisher's Summary

Young. Ravishing. Exquisitely marriageable. From the moment he spies Lady Morgan Bedwyn across the glittering ballroom, Gervase Ashford, Earl of Rosthorn, knows he has found the perfect instrument of his revenge. But wedlock is not on the mind of the continent's most notorious rake. Nor is it of interest to the fiercely independent Lady Morgan herself...until one night of shocking intimacy erupts in a scandal that could make Gervase's vengeance all the sweeter. There is only one thing standing in his way: Morgan, who has achieved the impossible - she's melted his coolly guarded heart. For Gervase, only the marriage bed will do, but Morgan simply will not have him. Thus begins a sizzling courtship where two wary hearts are about to be undone by the most scandalous passion of all: glorious, all-consuming love. Contains mature themes.

Book 4

I am powering through this series, however there is another fake betrothal, I was hoping for a new theme but not so... If I could give Rosalyn Landor a 10 for this book I would, the narration was perfection. She really brings these books to life and I'm so happy I discovered audio books, just to be able to have a book read to me by her. I liked the story, however I struggled a little with the age of Morgan and how she was perceived to be worldly philosophical. I like her character, it's just a shame her age wasn't a little older. I am really enjoying the Bedwyn Sagas.

Doesn’t compare to other books in series

I love the Bedwyn Saga books. I got through the first 3 books in two weeks however this one was very hard to get through. Morgan acts and sounds exactly like an 18 year old with no experience. Even though the author attempted to write her as deep for her age I found her caracter annoying and predictable. The male caracter is boring even though he’s suppose to be a worldly rake he has no energy about him. The only good part is seeing a glimpse of why Wolf is the way he is and a little additional information about the other Bedwyn family members.

best one yet

fabulous twist on the usual plots of these sorts of romances. I read a lot of romance and they can get a little repetitive, but the adventure in this one was spectacular.

Each addition to this series gets better. Enjoyed the time the couple spends in Belgium before Waterloo.

Another good story!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would recommend any Mary Balogh book as I have never read or listened to one I haven't thoroughly enjoyed so far.

Any additional comments?

I was so excited to listen to the next in this series and it was very much worth the wait. I have been following this family through each finding their true love and have enjoyed each one. I am giving this 4 stars because some of the actions on both main character parts seemed out of place at times and not what their personalities, according to their descriptions, would do or react to. I did love listening to it though and feel 4 stars carries an "I loved it" sense but not over the top LOVED it, as I did with the previous stories in this series. Still, I recommend it and will listen to this series again.

Love it

Great story but I do have to say that Morgan got a tiney bit tiring. She was ready to lecture everyone else about letting go of the past but was tediously reluctant to do it herself. But I understand the need to let it run on.

Great read

By far this has been the most enjoyable of the series thus far! Never expected Morgan to be so strong and wise despite her youth and lack of life experiences. Rosalyn was assume in her portrayal of the characters! Well done! Can't wait to begin the next!

The Hero is Cowardly and Spiteful.

He is the same age as her eldest brother, with whom he holds a grudge. He see a very young innocent girl, who happens to be the youngest sister of his enemy. As his enemy is too strong for him. He decides to destroy her reputation, using her youth against. So paying his enemy back for a disagreement that occurred when she was still in the school room. No matter how the story ends, it doesn't improve his rather cowardly, spiteful character. I am disappointed by the development of the heroine's character, she turns out to be a rather stupid woman, who thinks she has grown up, but is still throwing temper tantrums. Not worth buying.

Kept falling asleep

i am not sure if it’s the writing of the book or narrator but keep falling asleep. Moved so slowly.
