Story
After seven long years of conflict, the Horus Heresy nears its end. But now, as the Warmaster Horus marches on Terra to rip his father from the Throne, the seat of the arch-traitor’s power lies empty. Cthonia, a world once dominated by brutal murder-gangs, is occupied by the Emperor’s praetorians—the indomitable Imperial Fists. For the Sons of Horus, this outrage demands a reckoning.

Story
After seven years of bitter war, the end has come at last for the conflict known infamously as the Horus Heresy. Terra now lies within the Warmaster’s sights, the Throneworld and the seat of his father’s rule. Horus’ desire is nothing less than the death of the Emperor of Mankind and the utter subjugation of the Imperium. He has become the ascendant vessel of Chaos and amassed a terrible army with which to enact his will and vengeance. But the way to the Throne will be hard as the primarch Rogal Dorn, the Praetorian and protector of Terra, marshals the defences.

Following a series of garbled messages intercepted by the Kryptos, the divided warriors descend to the shattered surface of Luna. Here, their bonds of loyalty, duty, and their devotion to one another will be tested as ancient horrors of the earliest days of gene-manipulation are unleashed, and a long-buried secret is revealed.

Story
Of all the Emperor’s sons who fell to Chaos, it is perhaps Magnus the Red whose tale is the most tragic. Sanctioned because of his desire for knowledge, chastised, judged, and shattered to his very elements – there is much for the Crimson King to feel vengeful for. Yet revenge is not the only thing that draws him to Terra alongside the Warmaster’s besieging armies. He seeks something, a fragment, the missing piece of himself that lies within the most impregnable place on the planet – the inner sanctum of the Imperial Palace.

But Lazarus is not so sure Reis wants to be saved – its Knights are long lost, its governance is dogged by political strife, and internecine conflict hampers the world’s defence against an ancient evil. An evil which, like Lazarus himself, refuses to die.

Publisher's Summary
After a long and gruelling conflict, the traitors at last close upon Terra. But time is dwindling for an attack.
Both Guilliman and the Lion are returning with all haste, and their armies could turn the tide. The hosts of the Warmaster must unite, for only then can they attack the Throneworld itself. While Mortarion is sent on ahead as the fleet’s vanguard, it falls to Lorgar and Perturabo to marshal Fulgrim and Angron, both now elevated to daemonhood and perhaps beyond even the will of the Warmaster to command. But Horus lies wounded, and, as the greatest battle the galaxy has ever know looms, it is up to Maloghurst to hold his fractious Legion together and to wrench Horus himself from the edge of oblivion.

The traitors at their most powerful.
I enjoyed the performances more than I thought. It has some really badass scenes of primarch vs primarch in it. It does jump around a lot with moments happening somewhere else then coming back and then switching back again, just a little confusing and hard to keep track.

Traitors Devide, Traitors Unite
Definitely a must listen audiobook. The traitor Primarchs and their legions, conspiring, fighting, in-fighting. Their advance on terror stalled and in threat with The Warmaster succumbing to his wound from Russ. A good twist with deception within the ranks. Keeble working his magic as always. Definitely recommended.

I want to like it
As per one of my previous reviews, French is quiet clearly a talented author. But, it’s just so hard to embrace his writing style. It’s always like he’s telling a story, without actually telling ‘the’ story. His writing is like the equivalent of Bolter Porn, there’s so much descriptive exposition that the story gets lost. Keeble is of course, as always... the man.

Brilliant
One of the very best. Always enjoy the imagination when these authors speak of the warp and it’s deity’s! Worth a listen or read!

A sense of movement, finally!
This was a pretty good listen, the book is split into three stories which follow three sets of characters. Some cool new lore for Chaos fans, good characters, id probably have given it a 5 but the story arcs felt a little dragged out in places.
Sets the scene for the invasion of Terra, finally. Enjoyed this book.
