Publisher's Summary

When CIA operative Malcolm, code-named Condor, discovers his colleagues butchered in a blood-spattered office, he realizes that only an oversight by the assassins has saved his life. He contacts CIA headquarters for help, but when an attempted rendezvous goes wrong, it quickly becomes clear that no one can be trusted.

Malcolm disappears into the streets of Washington, hoping to evade the killers long enough to unravel the conspiracy - but will that be enough to save his life?

Great listening.

An oldie but a goodie. Started watching the new series 'Condor' which is loosely based on this original which got me interested to read this. Highly recommended.

The movie was more exciting!

I thought the book would be more enjoyable but, for once, the book was less exciting than the movie.

Revolutionary, in it's day.

I can completely understand how shocking this book would have been in 1974. And while it remains a well written story, in 2020 I just kept finding myself gritting my teeth at a number of attitudes and assumptions that are best kept in the past. The loosely related 2018-2020 television adaptation will prove both more palatable, and more shocking, to a modern audience. Still, essentially well penned.
