About this listen

A haunting crime novel of two sisters - one has vanished, the other is behind bars....

Snow Delaney was born a generation and a world away from her sister, Agnes.

Until recently, neither even knew of the other's existence. They came together only for the reading of their father's will - when Snow discovered, to her horror, that she was not the sole beneficiary of his large estate.

Now Snow is in prison and Agnes is missing, disappeared in the eerie red dust that blanketed Sydney from dawn on September 23, 2009.

With no other family left, Snow turns to crime journalist Jack Fawcett, protesting her innocence in a series of defiant letters from prison. Has she been unfairly judged? Or will Jack's own research reveal a story even more shocking than the one Snow wants to tell?

Caroline has become one of my favourite authors. Her ability to create vivid characters and engaging stories reminds me of Jodie Piccoult. A few of her books are included in the “plus” catalogue.

It was a very entertaining book and enjoy this writers books. Maybe there’s a sequel to find out what happens to Agnes.

This storyline was really interesting and very unusual I couldn't put it down ... certainly makes you have a good long think after listening to the story what's right and wrong.. but I guess in the end it depends on what you believe in !!

Loved this book, believable but unbelievable, had me hooked to the last page. Left me wanting more, in a good way.

Had me hooked in the first chapter!

As an estates lawyer it hurt me to hear the large number of inaccuracies relating to the probate, estate claims and Will drafting process. If you’re going to make something a sizeable part of the story please do your research first.

I had to literally turn it off at times as so easy to feel strongly emotional from the attitudes and behaviour of two particular characters. The picture is very clear in your mind of all the places and people as so well written.

Very confronting

Hey Caroline
Having been a psych nurse for 35 years, I can empathise with Snow and her motivation for some of her actions. ( but of course, not all)
Great stuff to read a book that shows both sides of the‘caring’ coin!
You have done it so subtly!
Australia needs more female authors like you

Great story and performance

Loved this book Could not see where this was going. Is the prorotagonist naive, complicit or selfish? Hang on to the end - it's well worth it. Wonderfully narrated.
