Publisher's Summary

A haunting crime novel of two sisters - one has vanished, the other is behind bars....

Snow Delaney was born a generation and a world away from her sister, Agnes.

Until recently, neither even knew of the other's existence. They came together only for the reading of their father's will - when Snow discovered, to her horror, that she was not the sole beneficiary of his large estate.

Now Snow is in prison and Agnes is missing, disappeared in the eerie red dust that blanketed Sydney from dawn on September 23, 2009.

With no other family left, Snow turns to crime journalist Jack Fawcett, protesting her innocence in a series of defiant letters from prison. Has she been unfairly judged? Or will Jack's own research reveal a story even more shocking than the one Snow wants to tell?

Thoroughly enjoyed sisters of mercy

Sisters of mercy had me riveted from beginning to end. Snow is a very disturbing character. Well written and narrated beautifully

I liked it!

It's a very "different" story, that's for sure! But still interesting! The main character, Snow, can be quite politically incorrect, but I love the way the author has portrayed her delusions. Being an Aussie myself, it was also nice to hear some historical tales thrown in about life post-war. I know other reviews have questioned Agnes's whereabouts, however, I like that this never gets answered at the end.

Great Aussie Author

Caroline has become one of my favourite authors. Her ability to create vivid characters and engaging stories reminds me of Jodie Piccoult. A few of her books are included in the “plus” catalogue.

Fabulous

Was captivated from the start with the story. Super impressed with the oral performance's to represent the myriad of character's you encounter. My only issue lies with not finding out what happened to the English sister.

Twists and turns

It was a very entertaining book and enjoy this writers books. Maybe there’s a sequel to find out what happens to Agnes.

Good story but distressing

An interesting story but the abuse of children with severe disabilities is both realistic and distressing

What happens next

This storyline was really interesting and very unusual I couldn't put it down ... certainly makes you have a good long think after listening to the story what's right and wrong.. but I guess in the end it depends on what you believe in !!
