Exciting Sexy Romance!

This third book in the Sinful Nights series continues to keep us engaged, excited and craving more of the Sloan family and the intriguing mystery that surrounds them. This story features sexy, tattooed bad boy, Colin Sloan and Elle Mariano, owner of the at-risk Youth Center, and kick ass roller derby skater. Colin and Elle met when Colin volunteered to help at the Youth Center. Colin has turned his life around from street thug and addict in his youth to a kind, thoughtful, and generous entrepreneur. He is a math wiz who is a genius at assessing risks. Elle is a compassionate, loyal single mom who doesn't like to take risk except when she is skating or in bed with Colin. They have a passionate 'friends with benefits' relationship that Colin wants to take further but because Elle is so protective of her son she holds herself back. Colin is determined to show her that he is a risk worth taking for her and for her son. They are so perfect together because they both assess risk, but from different angles. They are smart, like to have fun, and their dirty talking and fiery passion make them combustible between the sheets. I loved how their relationship grew at an honest pace from casual to emotional. I also love how Ms. Blakely writes adult characters who do not thrive on angst but work through their differences and short comings. The series long mystery arc continues to grow adding suspense and intrigue. It answers some questions but creates more with it's twists and turns. The ending was a real shock that I never saw coming! Ms. Blakely continues to find brilliant ways to keep this series sexy and intriguing. I can't wait to see what she has in store for Michael and how she will continue this exciting mystery!

Josh Goodman does a fantastic job with his narration, giving all the characters a distinct, engaging, and believable voice. I really enjoy his performance with this series.

Another Sinful cliffhanger

The author weaves a heck of tangled Web of sin, sex, mystery & love. Most of the plot twist I have seen coming. however, I did not see this cliffhanger coming. I am bummed that the next book in the series is out on Audible yet. now I have wait for more.

A Welcome Addition To An Awesome Series

If you could sum up Sinful Longing in three words, what would they be?

Hot, intense, and intriguing.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I like all of the characters, but Colin is my favorite. The Sloan brothers are some of my favorites of Lauren Blakely's characters. He's gone through so much, and gone on to become a man that his dad would be proud of.

What about Josh Goodman’s performance did you like?

Josh has really come to represent the voice of this series for me. He has done a great job, and his voice fits the mood of the books perfectly.

Who was the most memorable character of Sinful Longing and why?

Marcus is definitely one of the most memorable characters in Sinful Longing. We finally get to find out who he is, as he has shown up in all of the books in this series, and it makes perfect sense. I can't wait to see more of him in Sinful Love, the last book in the series.

Any additional comments?

I love Lauren's books, and Josh has done a great job of representing them here.

OMG! KILL ME NOW

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

YES YES YES.
Why? Because it is one of the best stories ever written.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sinful Longing?

THE END!
OMG! That cliff is still haunting me months later

Have you listened to any of Josh Goodman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes I have listen to him before and his performance is flawless like always.
I could listen to him day in and day out without getting enough.

If you could take any character from Sinful Longing out to dinner, who would it be and why?

This one is easy....
COLLIN :)
Why? Well I can't really write that here ;)

Any additional comments?

I thought I loved this book when I read it, which I sure did :D
But to listen to the audiobook made the book even better if that is even possible.
While reading I imagined the story, places and characters in curtain way and now when I listened to audiobook I was reliving the story all over again and got a brand new feeling inside.

And it seems that every time I listen to audios for these books I capture some small details that are playing a big role for the storyline.

Josh Goodman has really captured this series well and adapted to every single character perfectly and has brought them to life in full force.
He was a perfect choice for the job. A job very well done.
Congratulations on a mission well completed Josh Goodman.
Congratulations on a great narrator choice Lauren Blakely.

Series overarching plot thickens immensely.

In this book the overarching plot of the series thickens immensely. The Sloan siblings discover things about their mother and others in their lives they never would've guessed. And none of those things are good.

This is the story of Elle Mariano and Colin Sloan. Elle has a teenage son, Alex, and runs the Beethoven Center (a local community center Sophie held a fundraiser for in Sinful Desire). She is close also with her mother and her sister, Camille. Colin is the fourth child of what he and his siblings had always known to be four children. At the end of Sinful Desire we learn that the guy that's been skulking around Shannon's place and generally freaking them out is actually their half brother, Marcus. We get to see a lot more of Marcus in this book and also how he came to tell his siblings about his existence.

As the director of the community center and a social worker, Elle has discussed revealing himself to his siblings with Marcus on many occasions. But she never knew who those siblings were, only that his dad never wanted him to look for them or meet them while Marcus lived under his roof. Now that Marcus is living with friends, he's free to pursue the search and meet his siblings.

Colin is a recovered addict. His drugs of choice were pills and alcohol. He has been clean for many years. He desperately wants to be with Elle, but believes that she will never accept him because of his past. He knows that Elle's husband, and Alex's father, went in and out of rehab for a long time before ODing and dying in her arms. Alex had witnessed it and retreated into himself for a long time, until video games finally brought him back out. Elle doesn't want to put Alex through that again and just can't be certain Colin won't relapse despite how many years he's been sober.

At the end of the book it looks like Elle and Colin are on the way to their HEA. There's a cliffhanger. Marcus drops a bomb perhaps even bigger than the one at the end of Sinful Desire. I suppose this book could be read as a stand-alone if so desired, but I would recommend reading the rest of the series (if only because they're great books). Reading the first two books in the series (Sweet Sinful Nights and Sinful Desire, respectively) would give the reader a greater appreciation for the ways their father's murder and mother's culpability in it have impacted the siblings. One could argue that each book in this series could be read as a stand-alone and they'd be mostly right. The series is just so much better when read as a whole to get all of the overarching plot.

There was one downside to the book. I felt like maybe not enough time was spent on Elle and Colin's romance compared to the first two books. Maybe there's just so much more going on that the romance is pushed aside ever so slightly. Perhaps with so much going on I got distracted from the romance. I can't say for certain. Honestly, Lauren Blakely could've afforded to add more to this book in that respect, to flush it out a little more. The audio version of the book is only 7 hours 49 minutes, shorter than the other books in the series by about 2+ hours.

Once again, Josh Goodman performed beautifully. I'm excited he's narrating the next (and unfortunately last) book in the series, Sinful Love.

Middle of the Road

This book was just kind of mediocre for me. Some of it is personal preference, I don't generally care for stories where the characters are already sexually involved before the book starts. I want to see the very beginning of the relationship and how it turns romantic. Also, there was almost no plot development in regards to the side story of the murder of the brothers father. The main characters were cute together and I liked that Colin was sure of his feelings but Elle's neurosis kind of bugged me after a while. It wasn't a bad book I just wasn't overly excited about it.

Great ending, okay in the series

I loved the first 2 of this series, especially the 2nd one. I am heavily inked and enjoy roller derby, so I thought I would relate to this one more. The chemistry here and the reasons they could not just be together did not seem believable to me-- not nearly as well as the others in the series. However, even a so-so Lauren Blakely listen is better than a ton of stuff out there. She is a talented writer and weaves a good story. I want more Sloan family please!

Lauren Blakely at her best

Loved this third book. This can be standalone as it is about the brothers. There isn't much reference to the other brothers within this book. The story is great and the narrator does an excellent job. So love Lauren Blakely's books.

Sinful Longing

This final book in the series had twists and turns galore, very exiciting and I still was not sure the 'bad guy' was going to be revealed. Nice ending, with many threads left dangling.

could listen to Josh Goodman all day! the fact he's reading such a good story is a bonus! Hope there's a fourth book in this series, the 3rd ended on a cliffhanger.
