The worst thing about this book is I can't read it for the first time again. Storyline is so compelling - from the first chapter to the little connections made to previous books. Everything was superb. I do wish there was more about learning to be a wundersmith, and oddly I found the changed accent of holliday wu a little off putting initially. But definitely as good as Hollowpox - if not better! Now to go back and listen again

If you are looking for a different sort of storyline, this book is definitely for you!!!! It is amazing and everyone in the entire world will love it. It is super gripping, but I do miss Holliday’s accent.

My one criticism is that the pacing was a little uneven. I think there could have been some tightening in the middle of the book. However I think this is a wonderful series and it was brilliant to return to the world Jessica has so clearly lovingly created.

Loved this book, it was as perfect as the last 3 books in the series. The only criticism is that Holliday Wu was read with a different accent in this book than in the other 3 books which is disappointing as I loved the NZ accent in the previous books.

I really enjoyed this book. The story is compelling and took the world in a new direction. Morrigan is convincingly becoming a teenager and this book has an enjoyable mystery solving element and less intensity around the wundrous arts. This narrator is generally excellent however I was terribly annoyed that some characters from previous books had their accents changed. She also does not k ow how to pronounce ‘sook’ which really broke me out of the moment right at the end.

I’m loving this series I listen along with my 13 year old and I love how the stories are developing with the age of the kids, it really sparks imagination and wonderfully metaphorical for learning

I have enjoyed every book in this series immensely and this most recent installment was just as fantastic. The story is fun and kept me interested from the start! The characters are warm and lovable with so many hilarious and intriguing personalities.

I recommend this book to all ages, young and old! It is like Harry Potter crossed with the character of Enid Blyton stories. I can’t wait for the next book!!
