About this listen

Once again, author Tilly Bagshawe takes up the mantle of the late, great Sidney Sheldon—and again, she succeeds magnificently. Written in the inimitable Sheldon style and based on extensive, never before published material from his private archives, Sidney Sheldon’s Angel of the Dark is a thrilling tale of murder, lies, and lust that the master storyteller—the bestselling author of Master of the Game, The Other Side of Midnight, and so many other beloved classics—would have been proud to have called his own. With Sidney Sheldon’s Angel of the Dark, a gripping, stylish, sexy and surprising story of a son’s globe-hopping hunt for answers about his wealthy father’s brutal death, confirmed Sheldon fans have good reason to rejoice. The legacy truly lives on.

It’s not often that I can’t guess the ending of a book, but this one tricked me. Brilliant story and the narrator’s performance was outstanding.

Had me to the very end

I enjoyed reading Sidney Sheldon’s books on vacation. Easy to read and very entertaining. However this story is unworthy of his name. So many hours wasted hoping things might get better but sadly it was no more than tedious endurance test. The plot was implausible and the characters mostly uninteresting. Hardly more than cheap cliches threaded together to fill the vacuum of time and space it occupies.
Very disappointed with this story.

Tilly is no Sidney

This is a great first time crime mystery for a teenager or anyone new to the genre. Anyone with any emotional intelligence regarding relationships may want to give this a pass to avoid a cringy story. It essentially revolves around a theme of men simping for a girl harder than an incel on onlyfans. A lot of the major conflicts can be avoided by these men moving on with their lives, but alas. It’s a bit frustrating to see a main character suffer so much over a lesson everyone learns on their first high school breakup.

Michael Kramer however, does a wonderful job narrating, with a good range of accents and even a decent female voice all things given.

Your mileage may vary but this book is incredibly cheesy. I don’t recommend to anyone who enjoys good fiction.

Poor characters
